While new and future PSPgo owners in PAL territories have a reason to get excited about the system thanks to the announcement of a great new promotion, PSP and PSPgo owners (new and potential) in the US also have something to shout about, with the reveal of a host of different price reductions on PSP games, special offers and newly inducted ‘Greatest Hits’ titles.
Sony have told MTV Multiplayer Blog the their top nine things to do in their new PSP game, Resistance Retribution, which releases today in UK and Europe, and is already available in the US.
Resistance Retribution’s creative director, John Garvin of Sony Bend, has provided his list, which includes the following nugget of Resistance Retribution wisdom:
- “3) I know getting close to any of the Armored Titans can be scary, but if you have some shotgun ammo, run up to them and shoot them a few times with the alternate fire mode. The Shotgun alternate fire cuts through them like a warm knife does to butter!”

In a post on the US PlayStation Blog, Jeff Rubenstein has released an interview revealing a bunch of information about the multiplayer component of Resistance: Retribution , an entry to the Resistance franchise on the PSP.
The lead multiplayer engineer on Resistance: Retribution, Darren Chisum, talks about the work that’s gone into this side of the game in order to make it a fully featured piece of the Resistance: Retribution experience. Watch below:

Sony Bend Studios has announced that Resistance: Retribution has gone gold. The game will be arriving exclusively on the PSP on the 17th of March.
Resistance: Retribution is a third person adventure designed specifically for the PSP, featuring a new story, levels, weapons and enemies as well as a proprietary targeting system that takes full advantage of the PSP control system.
Set in the weeks after Resistance: Fall of Man, the story is said to bridge the gap between Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 as it follows the story of former British Marin James Grayson. The game includes intense eight player multiplayer game play with five modes including Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Containment and Assimilation.

Resistance: Retribution is causing quite a buzz, especially since Sony revealed details on Resistance Connect, a mode that allows gamers to sync up with Resistance 2 for the PS3.
The really great news is that we will get to play the game in just a few months! Ster Kinekor has confirmed to El33tonline that Resistance: Retribution is due out in South Africa in the last week of March.

After the announcement of a demo as a pre-order incentive for eager Resistance: Retribution players, we have a video blow-out for the title, complete with footage of the very features you’ll get to experience not only in the full game, but in the demo as well.
The first video shows footage of Resistance: Retribution’s Infected Mode, a mode that allows players to hook up the PSP version of Resistance to the PS3’s Resistance 2 and infect the main character, Lt. Grayson, with the Chimeran virus, resulting in some new abilities, new weapons, a different look for the character, as well as new dialogue as people around you react to your ‘condition.’

Sony has announced a pre-order incentive for Resistance: Retribution, pre-order the game from select retailers and you will receive a voucher code granting you access to the game almost two months before it ships.
According to SCEA’s PlayStation blog, the demo will feature singe player gameplay as well as the option to try Resistance Connect (a mode that allows gamers to sync up with Resistance 2 for the PS3) with both the Infected mode and Resistance: Retribution Plus.
The demo is available to those who pre-order the game from Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop or Game Crazy. Sony also included a few screenshots from the opening cutscene of the demo to clinch the deal.
Resistance: Retribution, a game set in the Resistance universe and bridging the gap in story between Resistance 1 and 2 on the PS3, is looking mighty on the PSP.
The story trailer below reveals how Lt. Grayson, the game’s protagonist, is to lead an all out assault on the Chimera Conversion Facilities – the places where normal humans are transformed into the hideous, mutant enemies found in the game.

Taking a third-person perspective for this version, Retribution contains a new targeting system to take advantage of the PSP controls and an all-new storyline, bridging the gap between Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 for the PS3, giving you the chance to use ‘classic’ Resistance weapons against new and old enemies.
Multiplayer is also available for up to 8 players, in modes such as Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Containment and Assimilation, via ad-hoc.
