EL33TONLINE: News tag archive: releasingtoday
Today is all about Battlefield 3, the latest realistic military-themed first-person shooter from EA and DICE! Releasing today in regions of the world not known as North America, Battlefield 3 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC is every bit the action blockbuster we were promised, and more!
Read El33tonline’s review of Battlefield 3 to see what you can expect in the singleplayer campaign, vast multiplayer offering and the awesome co-operative mode!
What other games are available today in South Africa, Europe and the UK?
Just when you thought it was safe to start playing games in your back catalogue, along comes this week’s slate of releases to cause your already-packed shelf to collapse under the weight of another torrent of shiny titles.
This is the best time of year to get stuck into some quality console time, everybody, but not such a great time for your pockets, unfortunately.
You had best get your pockets right, p33ps, because the videogame world has this week been flooded by another wave of digital delights - Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, PES 2012 and Forza Motorsport 4 take top billing this week, but there’s still more in store (literally) that will test the limits of your wallet.
Let’s take a look at the full list:
Fans of epic first-person shooters, feature-rich basketball games and/or fiendishly difficult (and rewarding) action RPGs, this week is for you - here are the new games you can expect to be available (and become available today) at a retailer near you:
Hmm… there really isn’t all that much going on in South Africa, Europe and the UK in terms of new videogame releases, is there?
If you’re a fan of gobs of horror and dollops of creep in your games, then you’ve certainly come to the right week, but if you’re more into the destruction of gigantic robotic creatures, or you enjoy playing mini-games with your friends, then the games releasing today in South Africa, the UK and Europe have you covered!
It’s been a bit of a quiet week for videogame releases but different territories have been treated to some real gems, with South Africa getting a host of Square Enix published titles (including The 3rd Birthday) and Europe getting a diminutive Duke Nukem release on DS in the form of Duke Nukem: Critical Mass.
What else is available today in Europe, the UK and South Africa?
The biggest game release of this week is arguably (it’s not a big argument) the next realistic racer from EA and Slightly Mad Studios, SHIFT 2 Unleashed!
El33tonline has been going SHIFT 2 crazy over the last few weeks with tons of features including an exclusive interview with Slightly Mad Studios’ Stephen Viljoen (catch part one and part two of our chat), an in-depth preview of this authentic racer, a full report on the game’s recent launch event in South Africa, and a look at the excellent launch trailer!
Also: You still have a chance of winning SHIFT 2 Unleashed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with El33tonline’s competition!
But if we know anything about our readers, mountains of information and visual stimuli simply isn’t enough – there’s always more to see! With this in mind, you can watch a new trailer for SHIFT 2 Unleashed below, featuring a look at the game’s online competitive and social tool, Autolog, with real world race drivers Tommy Milner and Darren McNamara:
Holy moly, is this a massive week for videogames or what?! (No, the answer is not “What.”)
Not only is Crysis 2 available today in the UK, Europe and South Africa (!), but Nintendo’s glasses-free stereoscopic 3D (sorry, lenticular 3D) handheld console, the 3DS, also releases today in most every EMEA region! Take that North America!
You can find El33tonline’s extensive round-up of 3DS launch games for each region below, as well as a list of other new titles now available (other than Crysis 2… !):
This week is another big one for game releases, and even though MotorStorm Apocalypse has been delayed in the UK, gamers in the region can still look forward to Homefront, Top Spin 4 and a host of other titles across all platforms.
South African gamers, however, will still be treated to MotorStorm Apocalypse…
Find out what great new titles are available today in Europe, the UK and South Africa:
Without a doubt the biggest game release of this week across all regions is Dragon Age 2 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, an epic fantasy RPG that finally allows us to re-enter the ancient, rich and incredible world of EA and Bioware’s Dragon Age.
This is a massive week for games, with whole fistfuls of blockbuster games releasing into the wild for gamers to finally satisfy any and all of their digital leisure tastes, across all platforms!
So what’s on the slate for today? And what games will you be frantically busying yourself with this weekend? Let’s take a look…
It’s all about Marvel VS Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds this week, Capcom’s latest and greatest (and extremely insane) fighting game featuring fan-favourite characters from Marvel’s range of comics, as well as Capcom’s eclectic cast of zany personalities.
It definitely is the calm before the storm here, as there aren’t that many new game releases to get excited about this week… unless of course you’re a racing enthusiast with a penchant for customisation and an eagerness for exploring the island of Ibiza!
Slim videogame pickings this week, unfortunately, especially for you Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 lot!
There are a few offerings for Wii, DS, PC and PSP gamers to choose from, however, with no less than two titles featuring the inimitable dungaree-wearing Mario, an action RPG from Square Enix, a massively multiplayer online game for the PC players amongst us, and a new Sims 3 expansion.
See what strikes your fancy for some weekend gaming:
