Halo Wars BoxartThe official, exact release dates for Halo War in each respective territory have been announced and, for once, Europe gets a game earlier than the US.

Japan and Asia Pacific get Halo Wars on February 26th, while EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) get it on February 27th. Gamers in the US will have to wait a few days, but will be able to pick the game up on March 3rd.

Halo Wars is the real-time strategy (RTS) game Halo fans have been waiting for, as well as the RTS console gamers need in order to prove that this genre works on a gamepad… that’s according to developers Ensemble, however, so they would say that.

You can find a bunch more information and screenshots over here, including details on the Collector’s Edition version of the game.

In what will surely break a few PlayStation 3 owners’ hearts, as well as make them go ‘Huh?’, LittleBigPlanet has officially been delayed. Why? A statement from Sony explains it best:

“During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

We’ll confirm the new launch date shortly.”

It has to be said; was it that big of a deal, which may now result in the entire worldwide shipment to be recalled? Would you have been offended if you had heard Qur’an utterances in your game?

Dead Space Box ArtEA have announced that their upcoming horror action game, Dead Space, is now officially done and dusted and will be working its way to a store near Europeans on the 24th of October on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, while stores across North America will contain less PS3 and Xbox 360 shelf space on the 14th of October. If you’re into games that mess with your mind while traversing a shelled out super-spaceship and battling extremely persistent monsters, then the box art to your right is what you should be looking for come release day, with the hand and the blood and the emptiness of space. Definitely alludes to the content. You can read some more about Dead Space, as well as catch an extremely creepy trailer, over here.

While it may have been proclaimed to be finished earlier this year, Fable II has only in the last few days gone gold, which means the game is officially finished, with discs being pressed for general gamer consumption. From the Lionhead website:

Fable II Boxshot“It’s been three years since we finished ‘Fable: The Lost Chapters’ and since then we’ve built a new engine, built an entire new tools architecture and editor, created a new and compelling story, built and populated a world which is massive compared to the original Fable, attempted highly complex and difficult things. We looked at EVERY aspect of Fable 1 reworked, recreated, expanded and got to hang together in (what we think) is an amazing game.”

Well, congratulations Lionhead. European gamers will be able to get their hands on Fable II on the 24th of October, while US gamers get it on October 21st. The only questions now are if you’ve already pre-ordered, and are you going for the Collector’s Edition?

‘Beast-Riding’, ‘Savage Combat’, ‘Spells & Magic Weapons’ and ‘Brutal Melee Action’ are promised in Golden Axe: Beast Rider, but not much else is actually known about the title. Oh, and it doesn’t include a multiplayer or co-operative component. Sorry.
