Insomniac Games promised they would reveal a new title at Sony’s media event last night and they didn’t disappoint. Two familiar faces popped on screen, two faces that are no strangers to the action adventure videogame world, Ratchet and Clank.

The reveal was made by none other than Ted Price, President and CEO of Insomniac Games, who announced that players would be able to play as both members of the popular Lombax and robot pair in the new Ratchet & Clank adventure, All 4 One.

It’s official: Insomniac Games was recently named one of “California’s Best Places to Work” in the latest Employers Group survey, ranking number five in the roundup - the only videogame company to make the list in a state that can safely be called the ‘Hollywood of Gaming.’

This award represents Insomniac’s eighth ‘best workplace’ honour since 2005, despite what must have been torturous development cycles over the years, working on Resistance, moving straight onto work on Ratchet and Clank Future, and then Resistance 2 and Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, while simultaneously opening its new North Carolina studio. Wow.

Additionally, to mark and celebrate their upcoming 15th anniversary, all of Insomniac’s employees (and partners) are going on a cruise to the Bahamas. That doesn’t begin to explain the company perks you get if you work at Insomniac, as the following cheesy video will demonstrate (yes, it’s old, but still kinda funny… kinda).

Congrats, Insomniac!

Another Ratchet and Clank game, another double entendre. The latest release, Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty, will see the tititular heroes in a mini-sized adventure, available on the UK PlayStation Network this Friday, for £9.99.

While it’s obviously expected to be much shorter than a full disc-release game, it’ll pack the same graphical detail and game play mechanics seen in the full PS3 release last year. Speaking of disc-based releases, Quest for Booty will also see a Blu-Ray release in September, also retailing for £9.99. If you’re not yet convinced, have a look at the debut trailer released during E3 for some confirmation of its wallet-worthiness.
