Gearbox co-founder Randy Pitchford is definitely one of those ‘personalities’ in the game industry that we keep hearing about, and even though he seems a little subdued in this latest video interview (comparatively, at least), you can still sense a good deal of Borderlands love and excitement bubbling under his Smart Casual exterior.
In roughly two months time, fans of the first-person action RPG, Borderlands, will be able to increase their characters’ level caps from the current number of 61.
This reveal was announced during Gearbox Software’s PAX Prime panel over the weekend, as president Randy Pitchford casually mentioned news of the level cap increase to the audience gathered to hear what the studio has planned for one of their favourite games.
Following the awesome news that Duke Nukem Forever will indeed see the light of day thanks to the development efforts of Gearbox Software (Borderlands, Brothers in Arms), it’s additionally been announced that Gearbox has acquired the full intellectual property rights to the Duke Nukem brand.
This includes Duke Nukem Forever and “all future projects in a cooperative deal made with 3D Realms.”
