EL33TONLINE: News tag archive: questionoftheday
Last week we asked you what feature of E3 2012 you would like us to focus our coverage on as we trawl the floor and halls of the show this year (you can still let us know) but today, this Question of the Day is turning things around and asking you for questions!
What questions do you have for developers at E3 2012?
It’s a question that we mull over time and time again. It’s a question that we’re sure game developers would love to know the true answer to.
More and more games feature a multiplayer component that developers hope to become the next big thing, but these games are usually played for a week or two as a novelty, and then dropped for mainstays like Call of Duty, Battlefield and Gears of War.
In this Question of the Day, we want to know what you find valuable in a multiplayer game:
What must multiplayer games do to keep you playing?
A little while ago we asked you which game developer and publisher booths you would like to see the most if you were to attend E3 in June this year, and you all had very varied answers!
While El33tonline won’t have a booth at E3 2012 (as many joked), we will be there to cover all of the reveals of unannounced games (there are quite a few…), as well as to speak with developers and get hands-on time with upcoming titles.
We’re also going to be dedicating time to trawling the showfloor of E3 so our Question of the Day for you is:
Through El33tonline’s coverage, what do you want to see at E3 2012?
With the global release of Diablo III yesterday, May 15th, you would expect the millions of PC gamers who flocked to the title to be able to play it out of the box.
Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Blizzard’s servers took a beating as hundreds of thousands of players in the US attempted to simultaneously log into the game (you’re required to play with an active internet connection), leading to multiple error messages and denied access the world over.
Very disappointing for players who have been waiting years to play Diablo III, no doubt, which raises this Question of the Day:
When has online gaming let you down?
We certainly don’t need to remind you that Blizzard’s latest RPG, Diablo III for PC, has recently been unleashed upon the world. The news is all over (and it’s all over the news!) so Question of the Day comes down to this:
Are you a Diablo III player, or not?
At least two major games have been pushed out of their expected 2012 release window recently and been ‘banished’ to the far reaches of 2013 - good news for some (and some reasons), but disappointing delays nonetheless.
With news of Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite’s release delays, this Question of the Day wants to know:
What game will be delayed next?
Earlier this week, we asked which videogame dad is best suited for fatherhood, but as Mother’s Day is just around the corner (this Sunday), we’re asking about the Mothers of the gaming world!
Today’s Question asks:
Who is the best Mother in videogames?
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, id Software and Bethesda have released the classic first-person shooter Wolfenstein 3D as a free-to-play browser-based game not only to let those of us who remember the original to play it in its entirety, but also to show a new generation of gamers how far we’ve come.
With this in mind, our Question of the Day is:
What other classic games do you want as a free-to-play, browser-based title?
When making decisions about which games to buy and fill our time with, playing a demo of an upcoming or recently released title is a good way of answering last-minute questions to put our minds at ease.
The Question of the Day that’s on our minds, however, is:
Do game demos give you what you need?
With E3 just around the corner now, today’s Question of the Day finds us asking you:
If you were going to E3 which stand would you visit first, and why?
Mothers around the world will get their (dedicated) day in the sun later this week (or ‘next’ week if you’re one of those people) but today we’re asking about the videogame dads that we’ve encountered in our digital adventures.
Are they all bloodthirsty and out for vengeance following a catastrophe, or are there some out there who are more mentally stable than the usual lot? This Question of the Day asks:
Which videogame dad is best suited to fatherhood?
Wouldn’t you know it, a new Call of Duty game was formally announced this week and come November 13th, gamers the world over will be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the next blockbuster first-person shooter from Activision and Treyarch.
But is this just a run-of-the-mill sequel and yet another Call of Duty game for naysayers to get uppity about? From what’s been revealed, we would say a definite ‘no.’ This Question of the Day asks:
Which Black Ops 2 feature are you most interested in?
Let’s look at a few of them…
You know that backlog of games we’re always talking about? That massive (or even select) stack of titles we have sitting next-to our consoles and/or PCs that keep staring back at us every time we even dare think about buying or playing a brand new game?
Now is the time to get through those games, it seems, because despite a few solid releases on digital storefronts and a handful of boxed games, the new videogame release schedule has dried up… but things are going to kick back into high gear very soon, starting next week. So the Question of the Day
What are you playing at the moment?
It was just last week that a brand new PlayStation 3 game was revealed in the form of PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, a title in which characters from across all (most) of PlayStation’s illustrious history will find themselves fighting one another across stages themed after their own adventures.
Parappa the Rapper versus Kratos? Sweet Tooth against Sly? Very interesting.
With this in mind, our latest Question of the Day is:
Who are your favourite PlayStation characters?
Organised gaming and gaming events are as old as the pastime itself, but really exploded with the release and popularisation of first-person shooters in the early nineties, with DOOM and Quake leading the way as other genres, like RTS, sports and racing games, followed suit.
While arena-based shooters like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament remained extremely popular choices for LANs, clan matches and pro gaming at the turn of the decade, team-based games like Counter-Strike throttled the attention of the online community, helping pave a path to success for games like Call of Duty.
This Question of the Day asks:
How far into ‘pro’ gaming have you ever gone?
