The recent string of crises in Japan is likely to push back the launch of Sony’s NGP - the highly anticipated successor to the PSP - in some regions. Many Japanese companies have been negatively affected by the natural disaster and subsequent nuclear meltdown, and Sony is no exception. The electronics giant has had to temporarily shut down factories in northern Japan for repairs, as well as a few others in various regions of the country due to parts shortages.

A report on USA Today has uncovered news of a new game currently in development based on the cult-classic character action-based franchise, Spyro the Dragon, with a line of toys and action figures also in the works with a dual-purpose use in mind – augmented reality!
If you haven’t yet had a chance to get good, quality looks at the range of planned first-party games coming to Sony’s PSP successor, the NGP (codename), then this new trailer for the feature-rich handheld console (included below) will prove incredibly handy!
The upbeat trailer has in-game footage for upcoming NGP titles including Uncharted, Killzone, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, Hot Shots Golf Next, Gravity Daze, Little Deviants, Hustle Kings, Reality Fighters, Smart As, Broken and WipEout, all of which are mightily impressive!

Sony officially revealed its next portable handheld last week in the form of the codenamed Next Generation Portable, or NGP, finally putting to rest months of endless rumours and supposed leaks regarding the system’s promised capabilities.
The event was held on the afternoon of Thursday, January 27th in Tokyo, Japan, which meant that not many people in other parts of the world were even awake when the announcement was made, so if you think you’ve missed out on a few visual snippets revealed at the show (including live demonstrations of superb games running on NGP), we’ve got you covered!
We’ve gathered together a series of high quality videos (included below) captured at the event to help you get your first real glimpses at what this monster of a handheld can really do!
