At Tokyo Game Show 2010, From Software revealed the studio’s next title in the form of the codenamed ‘Project Dark,’ but thanks to a preview in the latest issue of Japanese game magazine Famitsu, we now know this game’s official title, as well as a number of juicy new details.

‘Dark Souls’ is the name of From Software’s currently-in-development game, and while fans of the company’s Demon’s Souls may have been hoping for some sort of connection or follow-up to that mighty title, Dark Souls won’t share any of the same story or world elements.

From Software recently announced that it’s working on a “dark fantasy” PlayStation 3 game currently going by the name of Project Dark.

‘Currently,’ because that is hopefully just a codename for the final release. Project Dark may be one of the most generic names ever bestowed upon a videogame – especially a videogame from the creators of Demon’s Souls!
