Professor Layton and The Curious Village BoxshotLevel 5’s puzzle adventure game Professor Layton & the Curious Village will be available on the Nintendo DS across Europe on the 7th of November.

Puzzle fans will delight with over 130 puzzles as well as additional puzzles available every week via Nintendo WiFi.

Set in a village called St. Mystere, the game tasks players to solve puzzles as Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke. Players will only reveal the mystery surrounding the village once they have discovered everything, solved all the mysteries and recovered the Golden Apple.

Uncover information from conversations and the environment but also keep a weary eye out for some characters who will try to confuse the issue with riddles and may even try and prevent you from discovering the truth.

The game features fully animated cut scenes and a unique hand drawn art style. Players can also look forward to various side missions as well as mini-games.

The Nintendo DS is a marvelous little machine - not only are we DS owners spoilt for choice in terms of games but we also have the option of on-the-go gaming and a multiplayer feast of fun. Recently I have discovered another use for old faithful - being able to still play games despite Eskom’s pesky power-cuts across South Africa.

Turning to the games side of things, it is difficult to single out titles since there are so many DS games which appeal to so many gamers out there and every gamer is so unique in their tastes that it is almost impossible to recommend titles. However, with that being said I am definitely an adventure game kind of girl so I would highlight all the games in the Phoenix Wright series (a firm favourite for me) as well as Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Another real winner was Animal Crossing for its sheer ingenuity and Super Princess Peach for showing me that platformers were in fact possible.
