Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a welcome return to Ubisoft’s popular franchise. It’s a swashbuckling, well-polished adventure, overflowing with the usual assortment of elaborate puzzles, treacherous traps and interesting enemies, that sees the Prince showing off his acrobatic and fighting prowess, and more than your fair share of thrills and spills. While familiar these elements will combine to draw you into another escapade as the wall-running, leaping daredevil that is the Prince of Persia.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is now available in North America, and will become available at the end of the week in the UK and Europe for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, and while that last console may not have been on your radar with regards to the new wall-running, time-bending action platform game, you may just change your mind after watching a few gameplay videos taken from the Wii version of The Forgotten Sands.

Graphically, the game is looking surprisingly sharp on the Wii, animations are smooth and it also appears as though the controls make suitable use of the WiiMote… but that’s difficult to tell from a video.

While it may not compare to the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases of the game in terms of visuals, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on the Wii is far from a poor ‘port,’ but you can decide for yourself by watching the released gameplay videos below:

With only a month to go until the release of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, we’ve seen very little of the game other than some screenshots and a developer diary or two, but that’s all about to change with the release of three new gameplay videos showing generous amounts of footage from the title.

The videos contain some good looks at environment traversal (with all of the wall climbing and shimmying action you can handle), combat and set pieces from a section of The Forgotten Sands in which The Prince must infiltrate a castle (which is currently under siege) and rescue… someone.

You can watch all of that new Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands gameplay footage below:
