Steve Perlman, founder and CEO of the cloud computing online game delivery service Onlive, has posted on the official Onlive blog to reveal that on June 17th, the ambitious technology “will be available for users in the 48 contiguous United States!”

OnLive LogoThis milestone, Perlman writes, will be achieved after “almost 8 years of development, thousands of partner meetings, millions of lines of code, and an uncountable number of all-nighters,” and will not-coincidentally occur over the week of this year’s E3 games and technology expo.

“Everyone here at OnLive is just incredibly excited about this milestone,” says Perlman. “It’s the realization of a dream that we knew would be a huge undertaking, but also one that would change everything.”

Sony Computer Entertainment has officially announced a price and release month for the God of War Collection in South Africa, allowing PS3 gamers in the country to get their hands on the remastered, high-definition versions of both the original God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-ray disc.

Developers BioWare have announced that the Return to Ostagar DLC for their popular RPG fantasy, Dragon Age: Origins, will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this holiday season in both North America and Europe. The DLC will cost £3.99 on the PlayStation Store, 400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 and 400 BioWare Points on the PC.

The new quest will see players returning to the battlefield in Ostagar where the Grey Wardens were nearly wiped out and discovering the political agenda of King Cailan as well as going behind enemy lines to “revisit a place that many feared had been lost to history.”

PopCap Games has announced that Peggle will be arriving on the PlayStation Network this Thursday. Peggle is an addictive puzzle game that was released for the PC back in 2007, joining the Xbox Live Arcade line-up in March this year.

Peggle Nights will also be available as additional downloadable content, giving players two separate Adventure modes and two sets of Challenges as well as online Peg Party and Duel modes for multiplayer competition.

2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced that the first DLC for their role playing shooter Borderlands will be available this month.

You’ll be able to download The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 on the 24th of November for 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99, which will see you facing off against “ferocious brain-eating zombies, carnivorous Were-Skags and more.”

Wallace & Gromit's 20th AnniversaryAll Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventure episodes will be available worldwide on Xbox Live Arcade next week Wednesday, the 4th of November. This will coincide with the 20th Anniversary of the release of Wallace & Gromit’s first animated short called A Grand Day Out. Each episode will be available for 800 Microsoft Points.

The four episodes (Fright of the Bumblebees, The Last Resort, Muzzled! And The Bogey Man) take the “unorthodox inventor and his canine companion through exciting interactive storylines - from a honey business plagued by giant bees, to a whodunit set at a beach resort in Wallace’s cellar, to a tale of triumph over an oily villain’s greedy deceit, and concluding with a hardly sub-par finale at the prestigious Prickly Thicket country club.”

2K Games has announced that the first downloadable content for Borderlands will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC ‘later this year.’ Entitled The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, the DLC will cost $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points and is currently in development at Gearbox Software.

250GB PS3Sony has announced that the new 250GB PS3 will be available across North America on the 3rd of November.

The 250GB PS3 will feature the same “slim look, feel and features” of the 120GB system and will retail for $349.99. There is no word on whether the new console will be available in bundles. The 120GB PS3 Slim went on sale about two months ago and went on to sell one million units worldwide within the first three weeks.
