Pokémon Rumble was a game released on WiiWare in November 2009, a very simple action-RPG where your toy Pokémon brawled other toy Pokémon and was criticised for being short on content. Super Pokémon Rumble for the 3DS addresses this, but the main gameplay mechanics are too thin to last any reasonable length of time. The game is fun for a few hours but soon becomes tedious.

The Nintendo 3DS eshop went live today in Europe, and with it came two free items: 3D Classics Excitebike and Pokédex 3D. Unfortunately there are no other 3DSWare titles yet, lets hope they start arriving soon. Meanwhile there are some new GameBoy Virtual Console titles available and a whole heap of old DSiWare games to choose from.
To get the eShop on your 3DS system you will need to download the latest system update. This enables the shop as well as the Internet browser for the system. I tried connecting to the shop with my region set to South Africa, but it gave me an error saying the shop was not available in my region yet. I changed my country to the UK and it connected without a problem. There is a bit of a questionaire to answer before you can get to the shop - things like disclaimers and the usual end user license agreements and giving Nintendo and their partners permission to store all your activities.
Nintendo has officially announced the existence of a new 3D Pokemon game to become available for the Wii in Japan this holiday season.
Pokémon Platinum has proved that the Pokémon craze is far from over.
The latest Media Create figures show that Pokémon Platinum sold 963 000 copies in its opening week, debuting at the top of the software chart for the week ending the 14th of September.
Known as Pocket Monsters Platinum in Japan, the third game in the Pokémon Diamond/Pearl series was released in Japan on the 13th of September which means that it sold almost one million copies in its first two days on sale.
It appears as if the Japanese are taking the expression ‘My Pokémons, let me show you them’ to heart.
