This edition of the El33tonline Podcast is a little different.
This week we’ve split the podcast for the week of March 28th into two parts, with two distinctive points of interest. Unfortunately, we didn’t record with this split in mind so the cleave is a little rough this time – in the future, everything will be much smoother.
What can you find in part one and part two of this week’s El33tonline Podcast?
This week on the El33tonline Podcast, Oliver is visited by a raucous caucus of Hadedas (the common Ibis) as Lisa and Tom talk over the noise to discuss the awesomeness of MotorStorm Apocalypse, the fantastic Mortal Kombat demo, Uncharted 3’s new villain, new videogame movies, how excellent Uncharted 2 multiplayer is, announcements regarding Ape Escape and White Knight Chronicles, as well as February NPD results for the US videogame industry.
We wrap up with release date news for an insane week of videogame launches and newly dated titles, while reminding you about El33tonline’s huge range of new competitions and this week’s El33t M33ts!

Hey everybody,
There’s no El33tonline Podcast this week due to the fact that we’re collectively busier than John Carmack at the moment and didn’t have a spare moment to get together and record our rambling utterances.
We’ll be back again next week, though, so until then you can listen to last week’s podcast over here, and subscribe to the El33tonline Podcast and tune in to our previous recordings over here.
It also wouldn’t hurt to look over El33tonline’s coverage of the recent Nintendo 3DS pre-launch event in Johannesburg (here’s the full report with photos, and another write-up on the fantastic entertainment, also with photos), which is what we would have spoken about this week anyway.
Next week!
(PS. You didn’t get that ‘John Carmack’ nerd joke? That’s alright - it was barely there.)
This edition of the El33tonline Podcast is inhabited by two gnarly creatures who love nothing better than to spit hectic game about videogames - and this is exactly what they do this week!
Over the course of the episode, Tom and Oliver discuss the ‘dude-bro’ aspect of Bulletstorm, the respective merits of Lord of Arcana and Tactics Ogre, and a mess of important game news and announcements from the past week (Gears of War 3 talk ensues), all the while digging into our thoughts on what game developers do (and can do) to make our playing lives easier or more complicated (and just plain bizarre) by using technologies provided to them.
It’s chilled this week, so sit back, relax and listen in to our conversations in the El33tonline Podcast for the week of February 28th, and provide your own thoughts in the comments below.

It seemed as though there was a constant stream of stuff happening almost every minute this week in the videogame industry, but looking back over what actually happened… not a whole lot of it was all that earth shattering.
Although. We did get a final release date for arguably the most anticipated game of the year. And there was a bit of a sea change in South African game distribution circles. Loads of new screenshots and tons of amazing new gameplay videos were unleashed unto the ‘net, too. And we just caught wind of a countdown to the announcement of what will no doubt be this year’s most crushing game release…
So… maybe there was a bunch of earth shattering videogame news after all! And that’s not even the half of it!

[Update] Right, so the podcast is ready for listening and downloading… now! [End of Update]
This week on the El33tonline Podcast Tom, Pete and Oliver get together long enough to discuss the mighty Marvel VS Capcom 3, Hansel and Gretelbot for LittleBigPlanet 2, a few renewed PlayStation Move impressions, the announcement of rAge 2011 for South Africa, and the fact that Telltale is rebooting the King’s Quest franchise.
We also talk a little about inFamous and inFamous 2, how boring January 2011’s NPD results are, how relieved Pete is that Gran Turismo 5 has received a massive patch, how we feel about the annualisation of blockbuster game franchises, plus much more besides!
… and then, the other book drops.

It was a bit of a slow time for videogame news this week, but we still managed to capture batches of exciting new announcements, pore over fantastic screenshots, clap eyes on jaw-dropping trailers and videos, discover new release dates, and generally absorb a bombardment of interesting morsels of game-related information!
Not only all of that, but El33tonline put up another of its weekly podcasts, at least one review, a brand new editorial and a shiny competition!
We’ve rounded up the best videogame news and media from the past week, and you can see it all below:
During the first week of February, El33tonline Editor-in-Chief Lisa attended the PlayStation Experience event in London to get extensive eyes- and hands-on time with exceptionally exciting PlayStation 3-exclusive games including Resistance 3, MotorStorm Apocalypse, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Journey, Uncharted 3 and more.
Along the way, Lisa stopped to catch a glimpse of a Dead Space 2 advert on the side of a double-decker bus… but that’s beside the point. The point is that Lisa has written up a fantastic bunch of impressions on these titles. Have you read them? It would do your gaming heart good to do so, because they’re awesome! (I didn’t write them, so I can say that.)
Here’s a handy list of Lisa’s PlayStation Experience coverage:
Lisa also gave us a detailed report on her experience at the PlayStation Experience in a previous El33tonline Podcast - you can hear that particular episode over here.
In this podcycle built for two, Tom and Oliver discuss what makes an addictive open-world game, why Double Fine’s Stacking is so amazing, what we think about the cancellation of major Activision franchises (and the continuation of minor ones), while also chatting about newly announced games Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, The Darkness II and Call of Juarez: The Cartel.
We’re two members light this week, but the discussion is heavy! Can the podcycle take the weight?

Whoa! This week no less than three official game announcements were made, the development of at least two major game franchises was cancelled, a release date for a highly anticipated PlayStation Network game was revealed, and we posted up a collection of excellent PlayStation 3-exclusive previews! If we do say so ourselves!
And we got the usual assortment of jaw-dropping screenshots and trailers?!
What an exciting week for games!
In case you missed out on any of the biggest videogame news and media from the past week, we’ve rounded up the best of it for your leisurely perusal:

We also talk about some videogame news from this past week (including Dark Souls and release date information), as well as our experiences with LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead Space 2 and the Killzone 3 multiplayer beta.

This week saw a constant stream of interesting and/or exciting videogame news and announcements, and while there wasn’t any single massive reveal as in previous weeks like with the 3DS and NGP/PSP 2, a lack of megaton news was more than made up for with information coming from the PlayStation Experience in London, new details on Dark Souls, release date data, the official reveal of Battlefield 3, and the usual deluge of awesome trailers and screenshots.
El33tonline has rounded up the best of this week’s videogame news, which you can flip through at your leisure:
After last week’s successful podcast jaunt, this edition of the El33tonline podcast is filled to the brim with participants in the form of Lisa, Peter, Tom and Oliver, and we have a few good old ‘Charlie Chats’ about Sony’s announced NGP (Next Generation Portable aka the PSP’s successor), why we need to support Xbox LIVE in South Africa, why we’re ticked off about firmware updates and game patches, the official launch of the iPad in South Africa, and other miscellaneous T.R.E.A.T.S.
We follow all of that up with talk on the games we’ve been playing recently, which this week include Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Demon’s Souls, Crysis 2 and more! We certainly played some games!
