Hideo Kojima and Konami’s sword-slashing action title Metal Gear Rising has finally re-emerged into the world with an barnstormingly insane ‘revengeance’ trailer, showcasing Metal Gear Solid’s Raiden as he slices, dices and chops enemies into bits with lightning-quick katana attacks.

There may or may not be slow motion sequences and Raiden may or may not hurl a building-sized robot into the air and then proceed to destroy said robot a kilometre above ground. Who can say for sure?

But if that action is in the latest trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, it’s not the craziest thing to happen…

Previously set to release later this year, it looks as though SEGA and Platinum Games have jointly decided to delay the release of the pair’s Anarchy Reigns action title into 2012.

Platinum Games’ next title, Anarchy Reigns, is a little different from the developer’s previous singleplayer-focussed efforts like Vanquish and Bayonetta, and will this time include a wide-ranging multiplayer component so that many more players will be able to get into the brutal melee brawling action later this year.

In this video interview with Platinum Games’ Atushi Inaba, we not only learn about a new feature called ‘Action Trigger Events’ (or ATEs) that aim to level the playing field for veteran and novice gamers who happen to meet up online, but there is also a massive amount of in-game footage from Anarchy Reigns included.

Check it:

That header only makes sense if you watch this latest trailer for Anarchy Reigns, a game that’s increasingly looking like a completely over-the-top multiplayer brawling title from Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish).

Yesterday, SEGA and Platinum Games officially announced the pair’s next collaboration in the form of the intriguing multiplayer brawling game, Anarchy Reigns, with a couple screenshots and details to go along with the unveiling.

To keep those levels of intrigue high, a teaser trailer for Anarchy Reigns has just been released featuring focussed looks at three of the included characters, one of which is Jack from Platinum Games’ Wii-exclusive (and very gory) MadWorld.

We previously caught a hint of a game by the name of ‘Max Anarchy’ when Platinum Games’ Atsushi Inaba mentioned the title in an interview with Japanese games magazine Famitsu, but now after a quick name-change and a proper release window reveal, SEGA and Platinum Games have today officially taken the wraps off of the pair’s next collaboration, Anarchy Reigns, “a multiplayer brawler set in a world where anarchy is King.”

MadWorld JackNews from Japanese game magazine Famitsu has revealed that Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish) is currently working on a new title for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 entitled ‘Max Anarchy.’

Rather than focussing on a single protagonist as in their previous titles, this game will feature an online mode with support for a “large number” of players, according to Platinum Games’ Atsushi Inaba.

Platinum Games was in real danger of releasing two serious ‘Game of the Year’ contenders in 2010, with Bayonetta earlier this year, and now Vanquish, the developer’s latest game.

Featuring at least a few new game mechanic tricks and a heap of gameplay refinements, Vanquish is at its heart a third-person cover-based action shooter in the same vein as Gears of War, only once you’ve seen all there is to see in Vanquish, and you’ve carved your way through every combat encounter you’re challenged with in this game, Gears of War’s gameplay situations will seem extremely tame in comparison.

Even during the tutorial I was shaking my head in disbelief at the insane abilities you have access to in Vanquish, and my eyes glazed over thinking of the possible gameplay scenarios to come – pure craziness was sure to ensue!

Not… quite.

I won’t deny that Vanquish includes insane battles with extreme amounts of visual insanity exploding all over the screen, but despite the fun of the core shooting gameplay matched with excellent levels that enable some memorable enemy encounters, the developers don’t do enough to fully exploit what’s unique about their game and unfortunately leave it to the player to have fun in their world, rather than manually renew and refresh the experience with effective pace changers and original challenges.

I’m sorry fellow El33tonliners – in the past, I may have personally promised not to post up any more trailers or screenshots showcasing Vanquish in an effort to go on a ‘media blackout’ before the game’s release, but I just couldn’t help it.

This latest trailer is just too mighty.

We’re all going to have to be a little bit careful going into the release of Vanquish, the next action title from Platinum Games and SEGA. We’ve already seen tons of screenshots and handfuls of videos, and a demo has been released.

It’s at about this time that we need to make sure we don’t overload ourselves with media from the game and burn out on it before it’s even released!

So it’s a good thing that this latest story trailer for the crazy-insane shooter contains healthy doses of both in-game footage and morsels of story hints to keep us going until next month:

Can it get any better than this? From previously released videos, screenshots and information regarding Platinum Games’ Vanquish, we know that the title is super fast-paced and filled with crazy amounts of action, explosions, huge robots and lasers.

Now, from the looks of this newly released Vanquish video, the developers have injected an epic story into the game as well!

So I ask again: Can it get any better than this? I say that it cannot!
