When Konami’s PES 2012 releases around the world over the week of October 11th, the publisher will ensure gamers have a little something extra (and free) to look forward to in the game with the addition of downloadable content that aims to update player team rosters, as well as revise a few of the settings for the game’s clubs and players.

PES 2012 is going to introduce an impressive list of features this year, with additions such as Hold-up Play and One on One gameplay, while Active AI, Off the Ball control and (intriguingly) ‘Jostling’ have all been named as noteworthy advancements over last year’s entry to the franchise.

Also of great interest is the introduction of the ‘Team-mate Control’ system in PES 2012, which this year allows players to manually take control of a second player on the pitch, while your primary player still has possession of the ball!

As you can imagine, this feature has the potential to provide many different strategic opportunities during a match as you now have the freedom to set up effortless passes to weave in-between the opposition, all the way to the goal!

We’re excitedly anticipating the release of PES 2012 on October 14th by giving away a copy of the game for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with keen t-shirts included with the games to more fully celebrate Konami’s next football title!

A new demo for PES 2012 is now available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The demo gives players the chance to play a full 10-minute match as well as test out the basic and new controls in Challenge Training mode. You’ll also benefit from improvements in line with feedback from the first PS3 and PC demo, with Konami promising to further improve the final game with online updates.

Konami has today revealed something the company is calling ‘myPES,’ a software ‘companion’ that is currently in the works at argonauten G2.

Described as an “exciting new companion project for [Konami’s] forthcoming PES 2012,” myPES will supposedly help Konami with an idea to “extend the competitive element that makes PES 2012 so playable,” and argonauten G2 is now working closely with the PES Productions development team in Japan to achieve this airy goal, and to “bring these ideas to life.”
