The number of attendees at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo (PAX 2009) has been announced via word from the team’s Robert Khoo, and that number is impressive.
60 750 people attended the gaming and geek-culture show in Seattle over its three day run, which is only marginally up from last year’s attendance figure of 58 500, but is still mightily impressive nonetheless.
From the looks of these Left 4 Dead 2 gameplay videos captured during PAX 2009 last week, developers Valve are taking their zombie franchise to a whole new level, cranking up the creepy atmosphere and exciting action-packed gameplay to deliver a multiplayer experience shooter fans shouldn’t miss.

Major Nelson has announced that a collection of songs from the featured performers at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo (PAX 2009) have been unleashed on Rock Band, now available to buy and download for very minimal MS Points fees on Xbox LIVE.
Songs featured in the packs (and available individually) are from indie darlings Freezepop, MC Frontalot, Paul and Storm, and Jonathan Coulton. Check out the full list and pricing structures below:
Kotaku have posted up pics of an enormous piece of art created by professional illustrator Eric Maruscak, commissioned by Bioshock publishers 2K Games to be completed during PAX 2009.
Maruscak began drawing the piece during the opening hours of PAX on Friday (September 4th) this year, and spent 26+ hours working on it. Now that PAX 2009 is over, the piece has been sent to 2K Games, probably to be used as an awesome display at 2K Marin (developers of Bioshock 2) or simply to impress people at 2K headquarters.
