It’s been confirmed to IGN that Codemasters’ upcoming realistic military-themed shooter, Operation Flashpoint: Red River, has been delayed into June for North American territories.
Following the reveal that Codemasters is indeed working on a new Operation Flashpoint tactical military shooter, the publisher has formally unveiled the game’s existence, announcing that Operation Flashpoint: Red River is set to release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sometime in 2011.
A new entry to the Operation Flashpoint series of realism-based military shooters has been revealed, this time subtitled ‘Red River.’

While the games geared more towards action were (and still are) always a blast, the shooters that were slanted more towards realism offered something deeper in the long term, with rich rewards of satisfaction doled out in pockets while playing, and more heavily instilled after a lengthy play session, rather than second-to-second mini-rewards while going on a frag-spree in Quake 3.
