Another post on the US PlayStation Blog reveals that the LittleBigPlanet servers are up and ready for the game’s launch today in the US (today!). This means that players will be able to post their own creations to the network, as well as download other players’ creations. In addition, all of the pre-order codes have been activated and are now redeemable!

LittleBigPlanet Box ArtAnother bit of cool news is that all of the levels created during LittleBigPlanet’s Beta (made by the beta participants, obviously) will be made available to players experiencing the game for the first time. This means that there is already a huge amount of content to play around with on launch, regardless of the game’s substantial single-player mode.

To get a glimpse of the supposed ‘Go Button’, as well as other LittleBigPlanet related madness, head on over to Media Molecule’s site.

Yep, you read that headline correctly. According to Reuters UK (who has probably earned our trust), Youtube, the hugely popular video-sharing website, owned by Google, will soon begin to sell music and videogames through its service, as well as experimenting with new advertising methods to improve revenue.

Youtube LogoIt doesn’t stop there though. Youtube is reportedly to become a full-on e-commerce site, selling not only the aforementioned music and games, but films, TV shows, books, concert tickets and various other ‘media’ related products. Why media related?

Well, whenever someone watches a video on Youtube, they will be presented with the option to buy a product related to the video. For example, you’re watching a music video for a song by your favourite artist, right there on the site, you’ll be able to click a link to go buy music or DVD’s from that artist.

This will all be made possible by partnerships with various online retailers, including Amazon.com and Apple’s iTunes store, who will share the revenue generated by Youtube.

A recent job posting by Sony of America has led to speculation that God of War III may include leaderboards, online or multiplayer features.

The rumour mill began turning after an SCEA job ad seeking an “online gameplay programmer to join the team behind the critically acclaimed AAA titles God of War and God of War II” was unearthed.

The job is based at Sony’s Santa Monica studio and responsibilities include designing, developing and maintaining portions of game and tools code as well as interacting with game play programmers to make existing and new code support desired network functionality.

However, SCEA does state in bold at the bottom of the job ad that “this job description may exist to simply gather interest, and may or may not ever become an approved open position.”
