South Park: The Game from Obsidian Entertainment was announced in December last year to the surprise of just about everyone, and will apparently be a fully fledged RPG with all of the trimmings you would expect from the genre.

South Park: The Game BadgeThanks to a Game Informer magazine cover reveal, it’s been revealed that RPG masters Obsidian Entertainment are currently working on a role-playing game set in the most unlikely of properties: South Park.

Obsidian Entertainment (Fallout: New Vegas, Dungeon Siege 3) and THQ are collaborating with South Park series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker to create an RPG based on the long-running hit animated TV show, both of whom will perform script writing and voice acting duties while overseeing development of the game.

Last week we caught up with a Dungeon Siege III character by the name of Katarina, a formidable fighter and magic user who just so happens to be a Lescanzi witch. Luckily, Katarina’s an ally and will use her skills in battle to destroy the forces of evil.

Just prior to E3 2010, publisher Square Enix announced that a third entry to the cult classic Dungeon Siege RPG series would be making an appearance, only this time developed by Obsidian in collaboration with the original creator, Chris Taylor at Gas Powered Games.

While not a whole lot of information was conveyed regarding what kind of new and improved gameplay we can expect from Dungeon Siege 3, we were treated to a few pieces of concept art, and a teensy bit of backstory.

Now though, we can enjoy a newly released cinematic trailer for the game to step a little deeper into the world of Dungeon Siege 3. Let’s investigate:

A third entry to the classic Dungeon Siege RPG franchise has today been announced by Square Enix, and is currently in development at Obsidian Entertainment, with input from Gas Powered Games’ studio head Chris Taylor, the original developer of the franchise.

Dungeon Siege 3 will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC come launch time, featuring an all-new cooperative multiplayer mode and will “seamlessly blend intuitive action gameplay and a robust RPG system in an immersive world where every decision the player makes will result in consequences.”

Alpha Protocol Box ArtSEGA and developers Obsidian Entertainment have released a new trailer for their upcoming espionage RPG Alpha Protocol. Titled “Sly Old Dog,” the trailer shows Agent Michael Thornton in action, where overriding systems, escaping ambushes and generally sneaking around is all in a day’s work.

Alpha Protocol Box ArtSega has announced that Obsidian Entertainment’s espionage RPG Alpha Protocol has gone gold. The game is scheduled to be released across Europe on the 28th of May for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and on the 1st of June in North America.

The game is set in the world of thrilling espionage action, complete with underhanded government tactics, secret agent operatives and the threat of impending nuclear war.

In addition to releasing a bunch of new screenshots for Fallout: New Vegas, Bethesda Softworks has also revealed a few more details about the game.

Described as a post nuclear role-playing game, Fallout: New Vegas sees players exploring the expanses of the desert wastelands from “the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip.”

Bethesda Softworks has released a batch of new screenshots for Fallout: New Vegas, the upcoming new entry to the successful Fallout series.

Obsidian Entertainment is in charge of development duties, with the game scheduled to arrive on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this autumn.
