Following the release of the first patch for the PC version of Fallout: New Vegas recently (which fixed 200 issues in total, including quest and scripting errors), senior producer on Fallout: New Vegas, Jason Bergman, has posted on the official forums to bring some pertinent information to the masses of RPG fans currently playing through the game.
Amongst the revelations: A second patch for PC players has been released, while a patch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Fallout: New Vegas are currently in testing, and should be out and available soon.
After reports of incredibly weird and whacky in-game occurrences for Bethesda and Obsidian’s just-released Fallout: New Vegas, as well as talk of serious game ending errors, the developers have put out a patch for the PC version of the game to put an end to the hilarity… and the sobbing.
Fallout: New Vegas releases today in North America, and then later this week (October 22nd) in Europe and the UK, and what better way to squeeze out a few more revs on the Hype ‘O Meter than with a terrific gameplay video, as well as a final developer diary showcasing the game’s extensive and prestigious voice talent in action.
Watch below as Ron Perlman, Wayne Newton, Matthew Perry, William Sadler and Kris Kristofferson discuss their roles in Bethesda and Obsidian’s massive first-person adventure RPG, and then continue on to absorb a hectic gameplay video in which the player obliterates enemies with a variety of weaponry:
Bethesda Softworks has just announced a new deal in which owners of the Xbox 360 version of Fallout: New Vegas will gain exclusive first access to planned downloadable content for the game, much like the deal for Fallout 3 in 2008 that saw five add-on packs released first for Microsoft’s console, and then later for PS3.
VP of Marketing and PR of Bethesda Softworks, Pete Hines, said of the deal:
‘The Strip’ is a famous (or infamous) stretch of road in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, and according to Wikipedia, it goes on for 4.2 miles (or 6.8 km) and hosts nineteen of the world’s 25 largest hotels (by room count).
A truly epic part of the world, then!
So it’s no surprise that, considering the name of Bethesda and Obsidian’s next RPG, Fallout: New Vegas, the developers wanted to represent ‘The Strip’ in some shape or form, and in this latest video diary, members of the team working on the game speak fondly about what makes this part of Las Vegas so magical, and what you’ll be getting up to in the game:
Another exciting edition of the Fallout: New Vegas developer diaries has just been released, and this time members of the Obsidian team talk about the different factions present in the game, namely ‘New California Republic,’ ‘Caesar’s Legion,’ and ‘Mr. House.’
The video also includes background details on these three factions, and the developers talk a little about how these groups will impact your adventures through the Mojave Dese… uh, Wasteland.
As always, it’s a treat to watch and will be incredibly interesting for fans of the Fallout universe, so don’t hesitate to peep below:
The official news from Bethesda Softworks is that Fallout: New Vegas has gone gold.
According to a post on the developer’s blog its “officially finished and off to manufacturing.” Good news for those fans looking forward to the game’s release on October 19th in the US, and October 22nd in Europe and the UK, on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Did you happen to catch the first video developer diary for Fallout: New Vegas? The one that dealt with the first-person action RPG’s story, and how the team behind the game wants to deliver a believable, reactive world?
Good. Because now you can watch the second developer diary, which this time talks about ‘The Tech’ behind the world of Fallout: New Vegas, as designers investigate how they could bring a world of frozen-in-time 1950s technology into the future, and how civilization would really go about modernising such inventions.
Bethesda and Obsidian have released a great first developer diary for the pair’s upcoming action RPG, Fallout: New Vegas, the follow-up to the massive Fallout 3.
Developers from Obsidian talk a little about the story setup for New Vegas and how you start your journey into the world, while also touching on the importance of player choice and the impact that you as a player will be able to have on this world, as characters react to your choices.
The game may look dated, but the underlying design philosophies are anything but!
