Have you already forgotten what games you can expect to hit retail and virtual store shelves over the course of this week? Then your memory is just as bad as ours, so it’s a good thing we keep vast lists of these sorts of important details.
Now if only we could find our latest list of worldwide game releases for this week… ah, here it is!
It’s the very first weekly game release round-up of 2012 here on El33tonline, so let’s make it a special occasion with lots of awesome new games, shall we?!
… dang.
So, there aren’t that many new games releasing this week around the world, but the quality is exceptionally high with the sequel to a long-awaited RPG sequel, the adventures of an immortal demon slayer, and an eternally told tale of souls and swords all making their way to retail over the next few days. Plus more!
Let’s look over the list of quality titles releasing this week, like it was the first time:
After delays, promises of releases dates, and then even more delays, Konami has announced when gamers the world over will be able to pick up Silent Hill: Downpour on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and we don’t have too much longer to prepare our bowels and bladders for the publisher’s next survival horror action game.
Not only that, but dates for Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill Book of Memories for PS Vita have also been revealed - creepy overload!

Nintendo scored big with the 3DS this holiday season, selling approximately 2.35 million systems in the US during the last two months of 2011.
Of course, this was largely due to the might of Mario, with both Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 providing a great incentive for consumers to purchase a 3DS and experience these two critical darlings during the holidays.
The 3DS has now sold 4 million units in North America, and another 4.1 million in Japan where recent weekly sales figures have approached 500 000 on more than one occasion.
Not much to see here…
We’re not going to lie: There isn’t whole ton of new games or even downloadable content releasing this week, but despite currently being engaged in its death throes, 2011 still has a few morsels to offer up to gamers:
By sea, land, and air… we shall race!
The absolute highlight of this week’s worldwide videogame release list is the launch of Mario Kart 7 for 3DS, Nintendo’s latest awesome kart racing game featuring all of your favourite characters from the Mushroom Kingdom!

Fans of Konami’s classic survival horror series of action games are soon going to be spoiled for choice with no less than three different experiences set to appear in early 2012, all set in the creepy, stomach-churning universe of Silent Hill.
If you’re old enough to remember the early days of the PlayStation brand then you’re probably familiar with the four Crash Bandicoot games Naughty Dog developed for the PSone. These colourful and light-hearted romps had advanced graphics for their time and provided Sony Computer Entertainment with the mascot they so desperately needed to compete with Nintendo’s Mario and Sega’s Sonic.
