It’s just been announced that the latest entry to the Need For Speed series, Undercover, has gone gold, which is cutting it a bit close for its release date later this month…
Need For Speed: Undercover follows in the grand tradition of previous NFS titles, with adrenaline-pumping car chases, vehicle customisation and the excellently cheesy live-action cut-scenes, featuring up-and-coming and/or current Hollywood talent. This edition returns to the streets, as well as the shady world of underground racing.
Watch the battle trailer below to get a dose of all of the above.
Need for Speed: Undercover has a release date of November 18th in the US and November 21st in the UK and Europe.
If you’re snooping around, looking for Need For Speed: Undercover when it releases later this year in the UK, here’s the box cover you’ll need to seek out in order to buy the game. Executive Producer Bill Harrison explains the Undercover’s premise:
“Need for Speed Undercover puts you at the center of a big-budget Hollywood movie with all of the drama, action and dazzling chase scenes, right on your gaming console. The unique Heroic Driving Engine will give you ultimate control over the hottest cars and push you to use every ounce of skill to outrun the law and take down criminal adversaries.”
All that, right on your gaming console! Undercover also features an open-world environment with over 80 miles of roadway, including a large highway system that serves as the playground for the game’s set-pieces. Need for Speed: Undercover will be available November 18th for North Americans and November 21st for the UK and Europe.
The next installment in the Need For Speed series has been announced and dated - Europe gets it on the 21st of November and the US gets in on the 18th, continuing the fine tradition of NFS November releases.
This new iteration will include some of the features that fans may have missed last time around, now re-introducing police chases (of the ‘break-neck’ variety) and highway battles (said to be ‘spectacular’). So, hopefully setting the clock back to ‘Most Wanted,’ then. Awesome!
Another ‘feature’ of this version is the use of Maggie Q (Margaret Quigley), a Hollywood actress seen in such ‘hits’ as Mission Impossible III and Die Hard 4. She will provide some of the acting talent necessary to bring the live-action story sequences to life - another fine, relatively recently acquired tradition of the series. The actress is said to be a fan of the series.
Need For Speed: Undercover will be available on (deep breath) Xbox 360, PS3, PC, PSP, DS, Wii, PlayStation 2 and mobiles, come release date.
