Creat Studios has announced that the studio’s latest game, Mushroom Wars: Online, has launched on the PlayStation Network today as an add-on pack for the original strategy game, Mushroom Wars.

Available now over the European PlayStation Network, with a release to follow “soon” in the US, Mushroom Wars: Online is a new piece of downloadable content for Mushroom Wars that adds several expansions to that game’s features, with the inclusion of 4-player online multiplayer support, amongst other neat additions.

Creat Studios and TikGames have teamed up yet again, this time to launch a Publisher Page on the PlayStation Network in North America.

The TikGames/Creat Studios page will feature their games, videos, themes and wallpapers. And with nine titles between them, the companies have released more PS3 games for the PSN than any other company so it’s well worth checking out.

Creat Studios has announced that a demo for their popular real time strategy game, Mushroom Wars, will be available on the PlayStation Network this week.

European PS3 owners will be able to download the free demo on the 19th of November (tomorrow!) while North American strategists will be able to take their mushroom armies into battle on the 10th of December. The demo features five levels from the campaign mode, where players must take control of key strategic points.

Real Time Strategy (RTS) games have typically struggled on the consoles due to the challenges of micro-managing ones units without the benefit of a mouse. When you can’t quickly control your units your strategy goes to pot and all sense of enjoyment is destroyed. Thankfully Mushroom Wars suffers from none of these blunders whatsoever and it is super easy to unleash your armies with precision control.

When you think of mushrooms you might conjure up images of cute little peace loving fungi – not so with Mushroom Wars, these guys take no prisoners! First things first and you need to take care of the campaign business. There are homelands to be defended and wars to be won. Now the campaign consists of 25 levels set against meadows, forests and the foothills of mushroom land. Albeit I was eagerly anticipating this game since I first caught a glimpse of the art style, but once I started I couldn’t stop until I was victorious. So consider yourselves forewarned people, set aside a good 6-8 hours depending on your skills and let yourself be carried away from your daily concerns. I played it through in this time on easy and you’ll probably need longer if you crank up the difficulty to the medium or hard options.

The packed-to-the-brim PlayStation Store updates keep on coming, with yet another juicy list of new content this week on both the US and European PlayStation Stores.

Downloadable games include .detuned and Mushroom Wars on both storefronts, while the European store gets Uno and the complete WipEout HD Fury pack, and the US store gets topatoi: The Great Tree Story.

Rock Band DLC is more metal than usual with the appearance of a Brutal Legend three-song track pack, as Guitar Hero 5 gets a little more awesome with the addition of a Wolfmother track pack.

Creat Studios has announced that Mushroom Wars will be available on the PlayStation Network tomorrow, the 15th of October, for $9.99. And the good news is that it will be available for both North America and Europe!

Mushroom Wars is a real time strategy game where players send their “cute armies into battle, upgrade [their] mushroom bases, improve [their] weaponry and fight skirmishes in close-quarter maps.” Players can either play against the AI or against friends in the 25 levels in the Campaign mode (ranging from the meadow to the forest and even the foothills of mushroom land), or jump right into the heat of the battle with the 18 levels in Skirmish mode.
