It recently came to the attention of consumer site Joystiq that copies of Dance Central, one of the headline games for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Kinect launch next week, have been recalled from retail warehouses in North America due to a misprint error in the manuals included with copies of the game.

New copies of Dance Central will be shipped to stores next week to coincide with the planned launch of Kinect, Xbox 360’s controller-free gaming device, on November 4th in the US.

Dance Central is a dance game that sees gamers using their own body to perform dance moves, controller free thanks to Kinect. The game is currently in development at Harmonix, who are no strangers to the music genre having created the successful Rock Band franchise. It will be one of the 15 launch titles available when Kinect hits shelves on the 4th of November in North America and a few days later on the 10th of November across South Africa and Europe.

Dance Central was one of the most popular titles on display, both at the gamescom Xbox 360 booth and at the pre-gamescom Play Day held recently in Cologne, Germany. El33tonline put their grooves to the test and discovered why you just can’t stop the beat!

MTV Games and Harmonix have revealed a few more tracks that we can expect to see when Rock Band 3 and Dance Central launch later this year.

The Rock Band 3 setlist will include tracks from Marilyn Manson, Filter, Foreigner, Def Leppard, The B-52’s and Tears for Fears. Meanwhile Dance Central fans can look forward to heating up the dance floor with tunes from Snoop Dog, Salt-N-Pepa and Young MC.

Harmonix and MTV Games have revealed the full tracklist for Green Day: Rock Band. The game will include 47 tracks on-disc when it launches on the 8th of June for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

The tracklist includes a collection of greatest hits and fan favourites, including songs from two of Green Day’s most popular albums, Dookie and American Idiot. Gamers will also be able to play the album 21st Century Breakdown in its entirety when paired with the six tracks from that album which are already available as DLC in the Rock Band Music Store. The tracklist will be fully exportable.

MTV Games, Harmonix and Experience Hendrix have announced that tracks from the second album of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix will become available on Rock Band next week, on March 30th, including the newly “unearthed” single, ‘Valleys of Neptune,’ from the new disc of the same name.

Jimi HendrixSpeaking to Rolling Stone magazine, CEO of Experience Hendrix, Janie Hendrix, praised Rock Band for its innovation in music discovery:

“Much like Jimi’s music, we feel that Rock Band represents an amazing, innovative medium for music discovery and interaction that can have a profound affect on those who experience it.

Records (phew) has announced that the group’s standalone videogame collaboration, Green Day: Rock Band, is set to release on June 8th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, with pricing structures announced for each platform.

Lady GagaThe talented and fashion conscious Lady Gaga is set to make her debut on Rock Band with a four pack of songs next week.

Lady Gaga Pack 01 will include the popular tracks ‘Bad Romance,’ ‘Just Dance,’ ‘Monster’ and ‘Poker Face.’ Xbox 360 and PS3 Rock Banders will be able to purchase the track pack and the individual tracks but Wii owners will be able to purchase individual tracks only.

A three pack of Nirvana tracks, a four pack of tracks from Foo Fighters and a single track from Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will be added to the Rock Band Music Store this week for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. The Rock Band Music Store for the Xbox 360 and PS3 will be updated with a five pack of songs from Talking Heads this week, along with tracks from Avenged Sevenfold, The Jam, Oasis and Rage Against the Machine.

Wii gamers can look forward to tracks from Tom Petty, Billy Idol, Fleetwood Mac and Judas Priest while singles from Guns N’ Roses and Franz Ferdinand will be available for Rock Band Unplugged.

Rock Band fans rejoice because Harmonix has already started work on Rock Band 3. This is according to MTV Games executive vice president and general manager Scott Guthrie who confirmed that the third Rock Band game is en route in a recent interview with MCV.

Guthrie also confirmed that MTV Games is exploring the possibility of doing another game devoted to one major artist in 2010, like next month’s The Beatles: Rock Band. “We’re exploring both – and possibly will do both. The Harmonix development team are working on what is effectively the next game, or ‘Rock Band 3’.”
