Capcom has announced that a new Monster Hunter skin will be available for Lost Planet 2 later this month.
The Rathalos Armour from Monster Hunter was revealed a few weeks ago, but unfortunately at that time it was to be an exclusive PS3 for Japan. However, after Monster Hunter fans made their excitement about the new skin known Capcom decided to make the skin available for download in western territories too.
Capcom has reported a 866% year over year increase in net profits for the nine months leading up to December 31st 2009, making up the first three quarters of its current fiscal year, resulting in ¥1.73 billion ($19.13 million) in net profits for the period, as net sales increased by 5% to ¥49.98 billion ($553.7 million).
Yesterday we brought you a batch of new screenshots for Monster Hunter 3. Now Capcom has released a new trailer for the game, showcasing the vast environments as well as new and old monsters alike.
Keep an eye out for the new companion, the Chacha, in the trailer below. The game will be available exclusively for the Wii in the US and Europe in early 2010.
As anticipated Monster Hunter 3 has been a big success so far in Japan. With an initial shipment of over 1 million units, the game was launched in Japan on the 1st of August and sold a whopping 520 000 copies in the first two days of its release.
The clock is ticking down until Monster Hunter 3 will be available across the West, with the Wii exclusive title hitting shelves in both the US and Europe in early 2010.

The Wii has emerged the best-selling console in Japan for the week ending the 2nd of August. Boosted by the release of the black Wii and Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii on the 1st of August, the Wii sold 95 357 units, roughly five times as much as last week according to the latest Media Create figures.

Clearly Capcom expected great things of this hugely anticipated Wii exclusive title and this week’s Media Create figures show that this expectation was warranted.

Capcom has let the word out that Monster Hunter Tri for Wii, the latest entry to the epically successful Monster Hunter series of games, will be releasing in both North America and Europe in early 2010.
After shipping one million units for its release in Japan on August 1st, Westerners will be able to get their hands on the game which features some stunning-looking visuals, not only for a release on the Wii, but coming close to rivalling similar action RPG experiences on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (check out the latest Japanese trailer for Monster Hunter Tri to see for yourself).
The amazing environments form the backdrop for your monster hunting travels, exploring the landscape that contains a living, breathing ecosystem, “where man co-exists with fantastic beasts that roam both the land and the sea.” Sounds magical.
Celebrating the release of the game in Japan over the weekend, an extremely impressive launch trailer for the latest entry to the Monster Hunter series has been released, showcasing the absolutely beautiful in-game visuals, and not just because it’s on the Wii.

Monster Hunter 3 (Tri-) will be launching exclusively for the Wii across Japan this Saturday, the 1st of August. The game will be available either standalone or bundled with the black Nintendo Wii in the Monster Hunter 3 (Tri-) special pack, the first time a third party game has been bundled with the Wii.
It’s no surprise then that Capcom is anticipating huge software sales for Monster Hunter Tri, fueled by Monster Hunter fans scrambling to get a copy of the highly anticipated game and by gamers wanting to get the game along with the new black Wii.
Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) will be hitting shelves across Japan on the 1st of August. The game will be available standalone or bundled with the Nintendo Wii in the Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) special pack, the first time a third party game has been bundled with the Wii.
Capcom has a number of special preview events planned for July where eager Monster Hunter fans can get a little hands-on time with the game before its release. The Monster Hunter Festa ’09 will also be held in August to celebrate the popular series.

A brand new trailer for Monster Hunter 3 has been sent down from on high by Capcom, and it looks stunning.
Releasing a little later this year (well, presumably, judging by the video) on the Wii, Monster Hunter 3 is looking in very good shape, almost reminding one of Shadow of the Colossus, or Metal Gear Solid 3 in terms of organic, natural graphical detail.

Although the site is in Japanese, you can immerse yourself in loads of amazing screenshots and concept art for the game. The intro letter to the site reads as follows (Thanks to Capcom for the translation):
“Here, countless number of gigantic monsters form packs, fight over their territories, and carry out their daily activities in the complicated ecosystem.
There are people who hunt them as part of their life; they are called hunters.
We are about to set our feet in a new hunting world that no other man has ever seen…Welcome, to Monster Hunter 3 (tri).”
Monster Hunter 3 is the third installment in the popular Monster Hunter franchise and an original sequel to Monster Hunter 2. The game is scheduled to be released on the Wii in early 2009.
