The highlight of this week’s US PlayStation Store update is the return of Sly Cooper in HD. All three PS2 titles starring the cunning thief have been remastered in HD and feature trophy and 3D support. You can purchase them separately for $9.99 or buy the complete bundle for $29.99, so it makes sense to first play through one before purchasing the rest of the collection.
PlayStation Plus subscribers can download a free 60-minute trial of all three Sly games, as well as one for de Blob 2 which is now a downloadable title on the Store. If you like what you see then you can pick up de Blob 2 for just $10 - half its regular price.
Toy Story claimed a 3rd week at no 1 on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales chart this week, despite its sales dropping by 17% from last week. Three weeks at no 1 is a new record of success for a Disney published title. Meanwhile, Modern Warfare 2 is just one week away from overtaking Nintendo’s Brain Training and becoming the highest selling game ever in the UK, landing at 8 this week (down from 2 last week).
It is being reported that the console versions of Modern Warfare 2 have been recalled in Russia. It appears as if the Russian government is none too happy with the controversial (and much talked about) airport terrorism scene.

Modern Warfare 2 hit shelves across the world yesterday, and not a moment too soon because it was one of the most anticipated games of this year.
Megarom held an official launch at The Woods Paintball Arena in Johannesburg yesterday to celebrate the release of the game in South Africa, and El33tonline was on hand to enjoy the festivities. The first Modern Warfare sold roughly 40 000 units across the country and, with first day sales expected to exceed this number, expectations were reaching fever pitch.
The day has finally dawned when Modern Warfare 2 launches across the world!
El33tonline will be in the trenches at the launch of the game in Johannesburg, South Africa today, but although you may miss out on a bit of news, you can expect the field report first thing on Wednesday morning.
With just one day to go until Modern Warfare 2 hits shelves around the world, Infinity Ward has confirmed that no special permissions have been given for shops to sell the game early.
According to Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling (aka Fourzerotwo) “ANY store selling MW2 early is in violation of street date. There are no “special permissions.” That said, we won’t punish players for it.”
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC tomorrow, the 10th of November.

Yesterday reports started circulating that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 had be delayed by over two weeks.
Today this delay has been confirmed via a Twitter Post by online retailer Take2Games. According to the Tweet, local distributor Megarom has confirmed that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 will now only be available on the 24th of November in South Africa.
Infinity Ward has announced that it has “no plan for a demo” of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 before the game launches on the 10th of November.
According to the developer’s Twitter feed, “No plan for a Demo before launch. The entire team is focused on polish all the way up to ship of the full game.”
The pre-orders for Halo 3: ODST have now reached over 1.2 million.
According to VGChartz the pre-orders for the highly anticipated Xbox 360 exclusive now stand at 1.21 million copies. This means that over 200 000 people have pre-ordered their copies of the game this week, with just two weeks to go until the game hits shelves on the 22nd of September.
These great pre-order numbers have led VGChartz to predict that ODST will sell over 2 million copies in week one across the Americas.
Microsoft and Activision have taken the wraps off a new Limited Edition Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360.
The new console was revealed by Infinity Ward at an exclusive Modern Warfare 2 preview event held in Los Angeles last night, where guests got the first hands-on time with the game’s multiplayer gamplay on Xbox Live.
The Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console package includes the 250GB custom designed console, two wireless controllers, an Xbox 360 Headset and a standard edition of Modern Warfare 2.

Mad Catz has taken the wraps off a full range of licensed Modern Warfare 2 accessories for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
The Modern Warfare 2 accessories will be available across North America and select European territories alongside the release of the game on the 10th of November.
Infinity Ward is preparing to unleash the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer video next week.
The news comes from the developer’s Director of Communications, Robert Bowling, also known as fourzerotwo. According to Bowling, Infinity Ward is “aiming [their] next Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer video for release next week” and “the focus will be on a new Perk that A LOT of you suggested!”
