Following the release of the intense first-person shooter/adventure game, Metro 2033, developer 4A Games and THQ began teasing fans with mention of an upcoming downloadable content pack that would add new weapons, Achievements and a new, more realistic difficulty setting.

Since then, however, no further details have been revealed regarding this new ‘ Ranger Pack’ DLC… until today, when THQ announced a proper release date for the content.

THQ and 4A Games’ Metro 2033 released earlier this year to an overall positive reception, as gamers enjoyed the directed and realistic STALKER-esque first-person combat, mixed with genuinely creepy and horrific scenarios.

It seems as though the positive critical reception of Metro 2033 was coupled with a suitable amount of commercial success, as THQ’s Danny Bilson recently mentioned that a sequel, Metro 2034, is in the works. And it’ll be in stereoscopic 3D.
