This week’s eShop update has a couple of tasty morsels awaiting 3DS owners. The first game in the Wario Land series has been added to the Virtual Console and this fun platformer should prove nostalgic for anyone who was addicted to their Game Boy back in 1994.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D began its life as a technical demo for the 3DS which was showcased at E3 2010. Somewhere along the line Konami executives decided it would be a great idea to remake MGS3 for the 3DS and the rest, as they say, is history.
Snake Eater’s jungle setting seems like the perfect fit for the handheld’s 3D capabilities and the game’s sizeable inventory should be more accessible on the 3DS’ touch screen than it was in the original.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is one of the most anticipated titles coming to 3DS next year, and for good reason too. The third game in the Metal Gear Solid series is considered by many to be the best, featuring innovative gameplay mechanics (such as camouflage) and a compelling storyline set during the Cold War.
If you’re itching to engage in some excellent stealth action on your 3DS then be sure to keep March 2012 free. Today Konami announced a final release date for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D during a press event in Tokyo. The event was organised to commemorate the imminent launch of Metal Gear Solid HD Edition in Japan.
Leading up to this year’s enormous gamescom videogame event in Cologne, Germany, Konami has announced the “first details” of its line-up of games scheduled to be at the show.

The ‘Tactical Espionage Action’ of the Metal Gear Solid franchise has been confirmed to be coming to Nintendo 3DS in the form of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, a re-imagining of “one of the most popular Metal Gear Solid titles from the past.”
