Love him or hate him, there’s no doubt that Raiden has grown in stature from when he first popped up somewhat unexpectedly as a playable character in Metal Gear Solid 2 to when we next saw him carving up mechs with stylish swipes in MGS4. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will continue his story while delivering the signature action gameplay that Platinum Games is renowned for.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will hopefully be one of the highlights of next month’s E3, with Konami showing off both a playable demo and tailor-made E3 trailer at the event. Earlier today Hideo Kojima - creator of the Metal Gear series - tweeted an image of the demo’s title screen that appears to show Raiden’s in-game character model, and said that he was busy checking the sample.
Following the release of last week’s peculiar (and stomach-churning) live-action video for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, a follow-up trailer for the Konami’s action game has arrived… and it’s just as mysterious and nonsensical as the first.
Hideo Kojima and Konami’s sword-slashing action title Metal Gear Rising has finally re-emerged into the world with an barnstormingly insane ‘revengeance’ trailer, showcasing Metal Gear Solid’s Raiden as he slices, dices and chops enemies into bits with lightning-quick katana attacks.
There may or may not be slow motion sequences and Raiden may or may not hurl a building-sized robot into the air and then proceed to destroy said robot a kilometre above ground. Who can say for sure?
But if that action is in the latest trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, it’s not the craziest thing to happen…
