Entitled Star Wars: The Old Republic, in development for the PC, the game is set roughly 300 years after the events of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic RPGs and thousands of years before Darth Vader makes an appearance. The Old Republic is said to represent ‘an innovative approach to interactive entertainment, featuring immersive storytelling, dynamic combat and intelligent companion characters.’

Players will be able to choose between a Sith, Jedi or other ancillary characters in the Star Wars universe as they journey through the game, edging every closer to either the Light or the Dark side. Players will also be able to team up with companions (presumably non-player characters) who will fight alongside you, either befriending or betraying you, based on your actions. President of LucasArts, Darrell Rodriguez, commented:

The latest entry to the Star Wars saga, in game form anyway, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, has entered the history books as the fastest selling Star Wars and LucasArts game of all time, moving 1.5 million copies around the world in five days.

Star Wars: The Force Unleased Box ArtWhile the game is available on all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii and DS), with all editions released simultaneously in specific regions (ranging from September 16th in the US to September 19th in Europe) this is still an incredible feat. LucasArts are so taken aback by the response, in fact, that their original 4.3 million copy production run of the game has been increased to make up for the unprecedented demand.

“The record-setting sales of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed shows the undiminished power of Star Wars and its popularity across all media types, including video games,” said Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts. “We’re blown away by the response to the game.” Impressive.

Since I am a fan both of the Lego series and of Indiana Jones I was looking forward to combining the two, I mean its Lego and its Indiana Jones, how could it not be fun.

The game follows the adventures of Indy as he faces dangers and obstacles in The Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade. As such if you have watched the first three Indiana Jones movies you will recognise many scenes made famous by the movies whereas if you are new to the series you will wonder why it has taken you so long to indulge in a little adventure or two.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels is currently in development exclusively for the Wii at Krome Studios. Players can look forward to engaging in Lightsaber battles while being immersed in the characters, locations and duels from the new Star Wars animated TV series. The game has been built from the ground up and will see players dueling with the Lightsaber in their hand thanks to an “intuitive motion-controlled combat system.”

Players will be able to participate in famous duels from The Clone Wars feature film and TV series on locations including Tatooine and Teth. You and a friend can step into the shoes of a Clone Wars hero or villain (including Anakin Skywalker, General Grievous, Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress), using your interactive surroundings to gain the advantage.
