Lord of Arcana is a poor imitation of popular titles like the Monster Hunter and God Eater games. It’s only really suitable for the hardcore RPG enthusiast who derives pleasure from building up a character and questing in dungeons, and doesn’t mind grinding away for hours on end until their protagonist is capable of defeating the more formidable monsters in the game. Even then, such a person will probably wonder why a respected publisher like Square Enix chose to endorse Lord of Arcana – a dull dungeon crawler that fails to impress on any level.

A new Square Enix PSP action game by the name of Lord of Arcana has today been officially announced, accompanied by the release of a gameplay video, as well as some screenshots and artwork.

Lord of Arcana will task players with travelling the world of Horodyn in an epic quest to acquire the renowned power of Arcana – the source of all order in the world. According to legend, it is said that only one with power can obtain Arcana.
