Sony has unveiled the LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Edition, along with details on a Special Edition for the game.

The LittleBigPlanet 2 Special Edition will include a copy of the game, a Move controller (of course you all know that the game now includes Move support) and over $35 worth of bonus goodies.

The latest free update for LittleBigPlanet 2 was just released this week, but did you know that it added Move support to the game? Yip, that’s right, LittleBigPlanet 2 is now Move-enabled so you can control your Sackboy, or Sackgirl (ahem), with the Move controller and Navigation controller.

This week’s US PlayStation Store update includes a smattering of interesting content across a number of genres. There’s a new episode of Qore to download for free if you’re an annual subscriber or PlayStation Plus member, and I highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already. The show is in HD (720P) and usually covers about four topics per episode. These include Blu-ray reviews, travelogues, interviews with notable PlayStation developers and behind-the-scenes coverage of upcoming games.

Although this week’s PlayStation Store update for Europe is relatively small, it gives you a great opportunity to try a few older titles with try before you buy for Dead Nation and a demo for PixelJunk Shooter 2.

You’ll also have the chance to try out a new case for LA Noire with the ‘Reefer Case’ DLC and even get your hands on the Final Fantasy IV character costumes for LittleBigPlanet 2.

The PlayStation Network outage gave LittleBigPlanet 2 enthusiasts plenty of time to prep new projects to upload when the service came back online. One of these “levels” is currently gaining significant traction in the LBP community, having racked up 13 695 playthroughs since it was published on Monday.

Entitled “Massive Epic Raging Destruction (3D FPS Trailer),” it’s merely a preview (albeit an exciting one) of what we can expect when the level is released in a playable format.

[Update] Right, so the podcast is ready for listening and downloading… now! [End of Update]

This week on the El33tonline Podcast Tom, Pete and Oliver get together long enough to discuss the mighty Marvel VS Capcom 3, Hansel and Gretelbot for LittleBigPlanet 2, a few renewed PlayStation Move impressions, the announcement of rAge 2011 for South Africa, and the fact that Telltale is rebooting the King’s Quest franchise.

We also talk a little about inFamous and inFamous 2, how boring January 2011’s NPD results are, how relieved Pete is that Gran Turismo 5 has received a massive patch, how we feel about the annualisation of blockbuster game franchises, plus much more besides!

… and then, the other book drops.

Listen in to the El33tonline Podcast for the week of February 21st!

If you’ve been playing LittleBigPlanet 2 online recently you will have noticed that the community levels available for the game online are improving in leaps and bounds. I expected there to be a whole lot of polished levels to play when it launched because of all the cool Beta user-generated content that was making waves on the internet prior to launch.

Well, it turns out that those Beta levels were all scrapped and now have to be painstakingly recreated using the retail version due to some dangerous bugs found in the Beta code.

With LittleBigPlanet 2 releasing a couple of weeks ago, the series has once again become the focus of attention for many PS3 gamers who enjoy creating their own levels and/or sampling the work of others. But have you ever stopped to consider the vast educational potential of the series?

Educators have long been looking for ways to make study material relevant and accessible to learners, and consequently a flurry of ‘edutainment’ titles have been released over the past few years to try and bridge the gap between learning and fun.

LBP2’s developers, Media Molecule, are joining the edutainment party by working in conjunction with the education-focused branch of Sony Computer Entertainment (called ConnectED) to bring LBP2 teachers’ kits to the classroom.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is a starkly different experience depending on if you play it offline or online. Offline it fails to live up to its predecessor’s varied and challenging story mode, despite the many new additions to Sackboy’s arsenal. However, once you’re connected to the LittleBigPlanet servers, the game takes on a completely new dimension and proves that it’s got all the right ingredients to be the best community-based experience on the PlayStation 3.

Unfortunately for the single-platform LittleBigPlanet 2, its stay at the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing was short-lived, lasting only a single week before having to make way for the multiplatform blockbuster game release of January, Dead Space 2.

HeadphonesAfter last week’s successful podcast jaunt, this edition of the El33tonline podcast is filled to the brim with participants in the form of Lisa, Peter, Tom and Oliver, and we have a few good old ‘Charlie Chats’ about Sony’s announced NGP (Next Generation Portable aka the PSP’s successor), why we need to support Xbox LIVE in South Africa, why we’re ticked off about firmware updates and game patches, the official launch of the iPad in South Africa, and other miscellaneous T.R.E.A.T.S.

We follow all of that up with talk on the games we’ve been playing recently, which this week include Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Demon’s Souls, Crysis 2 and more! We certainly played some games!

You can download or listen to the latest edition of the El33tonline podcast over here, and be sure to let us know what you think, send us some mail to the provided address, and tune in again next week!

Well what do you know?! LittleBigPlanet 2 was able to slay the mighty beast, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and reign supreme over all other games in Chart Track’s UK Software sales listing for this week!

Will LittleBigPlanet 2’s control over the chart continue into next week? Media Molecule will certainly hope so! Let’s see if the ‘home advantage’ works in the developer’s favour…

[Update] Added a fantastic launch trailer for LittleBigPlanet 2 below, which takes Sack Boy on a journey through the history of videogames, with all kinds of genres represented and recreated in the game itself! A must-watch! [End of Update]

The year is still warming up a bit as far as new game releases are concerned, but just to keep us on our toes, 2011 is sending out a few blockbuster titles today as a promise of things to come. And what promise!

It doesn’t take much to get excited about LittleBigPlanet 2, but seeing as how the ‘Play Create Share’ platform adventure game releases tomorrow across the UK, Europe and South Africa, it surely couldn’t hurt to get just a little bit more excited about the game… could it?

Could it?!

While watching this video studio tour of developer Media Molecule’s offices, if you start to feel any discomfort (in your ‘Grinning Muscles’ or ‘Excitement Organs,’ for example), it’s recommended you stop viewing immediately. The damage could be permanent:
