We’ve been predicting it for a while now following the game’s dominant showing earlier this year, but now that there’s little to no resistance from brand new triple-A games, Zumba Fitness is free to reign over Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing.
For the third week in a row (and the sixth week, total), the little fitness game that could has once again topped the UK sales chart, ahead of heavy hitters like LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean and LA Noire.
Is it a pirate’s life for you?
We recently asked El33tonline readers to tell us what Captain Jack Sparrow from the acclaimed Pirates of the Caribbean might do if he ever found himself magically transported to the land of LEGO. Would he freak out and stumble about in a frenzy, or would he calmly collect his thoughts, adjust to his new blocky surroundings, and carry on acting like his usually self (i.e. stumbling about).
Why would we ask you to tell us such a thing? For a chance to win LEGO: Pirates of the Caribbean for Xbox 360, as well as a keen set of LEGO, me hearties!

Despite a massive 56% drop in sales compared to the week previous, Rockstar and Team Bondi’s action thriller LA Noire is still able to command the top position on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing.
The burning question on my mind when I cracked open the box was do we really need a LEGO game about Pirates to tide us over?
I am pleased to say that the answer to that question is a resounding yes! With LEGO games the building blocks to a successful title have always been about offering a high quality adventure for gamers of all ages and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean not only keeps up with this creed with its polished and inimitable rendition of our favourite pirates, but in some ways actually manages to even raise the bar for all future LEGO games!

Avast, me hearties! It may not be ‘International Talk like a Pirate Day’ yet, but shiver me timbers that doesn’t mean you can’t look forward to some swashbucklin’ pirate adventures!
There be a mighty fine bounty up for grabs, ye’ salty seadogs, and it’s a tad more than a bottle of rum…

Rockstar and Team Bondi continue their collective sales dominance in the UK this week as LA Noire (unsurprisingly) appears at the very top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing, despite a 43% drop in sales compared to the week previous.
This means that debut title DiRT 3 from Codemasters is unable to claim No. 1 during its first week on sale, instead having to settle for No. 2.
As Tom points out below, South Africa has recently become gripped in a severely icy chill which is (hopefully) due dissipate in the next few days, but it’s no longer deniable: Old Man Winter has arrived in the country, and he’s as grumpy as ever.
What’s a gamer to do? Again, Tom provides an interesting thought on the correct course of action to take while ensconced in the cold, as do other members of El33tonline as we discuss what will be keeping us warm over the next two days:
Is it any surprise that Rockstar’s latest published title was able to rocket to the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing this past week? Surely not – this is the studio behind chart kings Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, after all!
So it is that LA Noire (developed by Team Bondi) has managed to claim the top spot on the UK sales chart, becoming the 13th fastest selling title in the UK on Xbox 360, and 11th fastest on PlayStation 3, while also netting itself the tag of fastest selling new videogame intellectual property in the UK!
But how were LA Noire’s console sales split?
So what’s going on this weekend? Last week we managed to escape Friday the 13th unscathed, but this time the hammer has yet to drop, so we’ll be waiting nervously until the end of Saturday to find out if we ‘make it’ or not…
… or we’ll just be playing games without a care in the world. Probably this.
The team at El33tonline has recently been injected with a massive dose of brand new games, so without further ado, let’s find out what everyone will be up to this weekend, and what games we’ll be playing:
To (temporarily) stem the tyrannical rise and rise of Zumba Fitness, Brink and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean were unleashed on UK gamers late last week, and according to Chart Track, these debut titles were able to appear at No. 1 and No. 2 on the region’s sales chart respectively for the week ending May 14th.
Oooooooooh, Friday the Thirteenth is upon us… and now it’s nearly over to let us enjoy our weekend without fear of something absolutely horrific happening.
After browsing over this week’s news and reviews (with more reviews to come shortly), you can discover what members of El33tonline will be getting up to this weekend:
Although the number of top games releasing this month is low compared to, say, April, the quality to quantity ratio is truly amazing, as every week for the next few weeks there’s some or other title that’s well worth your attention, across all genres.
We’ve collected together a list of games releasing over the course of the next few weeks (which you can peruse below), while members of El33tonline have sounded off on the titles that they’re most looking forward to, and that you may be chomping for too!
It’s demo time on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace as a gameplay sample for LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean has just hit Xbox 360 online service!
