Batman and Robin aren’t the only ones doing a dance of joy, Warner Bros are too. This after news that LEGO Batman: The Videogame has sold over one million copies across all formats in the UK since the game was launched in 2008.

The LEGO franchise has proved to very popular (and lucrative) in the videogame arena, with LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones, LEGO Rock Band and LEGO Harry Potter adding to the legacy of developer TT Games.

It’s been announced on the US PlayStation Blog that a limited edition Lego Batman PlayStation 2 bundle has been unleashed into the market. For a MSRP of $149.99, the bundle includes: LEGO Batman

  • The Black PlayStation 2 system and DUALSHOCK 2 Controller
  • LEGO Batman: The Video Game
  • Justice League: The New Frontier DVD, which, in case you don’t know, reveals the origin of the Justice League, based on Darwyn Cooke’s award-winning graphic novel

So, if you want LEGO Batman, you still haven’t bought a PS2 and these new-fangled next-generation systems are still too pricey for your taste, hurry out to a major retailer near you, because stocks are limited. No mention of whether this bundle will be available outside of the US, though.

If you’re interested in the vehicles, characters, graphical style and humour you can expect from LEGO Batman: The Videogame, then look no further, as the launch trailer for the game has been released, showcasing all of the above.

LEGO Batman: The Videogame is just as the title suggests - Batman, rendered in LEGO in the form of a game! Genius! Expect LEGO Batman on all platforms on the 10th of October in the UK and Europe or the 7th of October in the US.

Do you like Lego? Do you like Batman? Do you enjoy the idea of the two mixing together in video game form, telling the story of the Caped Crusader battling ne’er do wells? Well, look forward to early October then!

LEGO BatmanLego Batman is set to arrive in stores on October 10th across the UK and Europe, while the US will have it on the 7th, available across all platforms in one form or another. Traveller’s Tales, the developers of the game, have already begun touting Lego Batman as their “best LEGO game yet,” which is quite a statement considering their Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones titles.

Lego Batman, which carries on in the tradition of the earlier co-operative action/adventure Lego games, will include a host of characters from the world of the titular hero, including Robin, The Joker, Catwoman and The Penguin, as well as Batgirl, Clay Face, The Riddler, Two-Face, Scarecrow and Killer Croc, while featured vehicles include the Batmobile, Batboat and Batwing, all modelled in Lego! How awesome! You’ll also be able to take control of either the heroes or the villains during the course of the game, with dedicated missions for side.
