Gamers of Cape Town! Did you know about the next PlayStation 3 LAN and competition event happening in your city very soon?
Well let’s rectify that knowledge gap immediately, then!
This Saturday, November 13th, GamingEventsCo (or GECo) will be hosting part two of its 9th PS3 LAN in Claremont, Cape Town, where Tekken 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops competitions will be taking place for “the best players in Cape Town to show their skills and prove who’s the best of the best!”

It’s time once again for gamers in the region of Cape Town to unite together, as one, and congregate for the 9th PS3 LAN held by GamingEventsCo (GECo)!
Then, once you’ve all congregated and have got to know one another, it’ll be time to compete in two brutal contests, thus destroying any goodwill you may have gained for your fellow gamer, all while ripping each other apart in the planned FIFA 11 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock competitions!

It’s been announced that GamingEventsCo (or GECo) will be hosting its 9th Cape Town PS3 LAN event on November 6th, with FIFA 11 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock competitions being held for attendees!

If you’re in the vicinity of Cape Town and you feel up to the task of taking part in some Fifa 10 and Guitar Hero 5 competitions from the evening of March 6th (tomorrow) until the morning of March 7th (Sunday), as well as standing a chance of winning some prizes, then the PS3 Cape Town LAN might just interest you.

On the other hand, if you happen to be in Durban, and you’re looking for a gathering of like-minded game developers (professional and enthusiast alike) to hang out with for the day to share ideas with, and perhaps even create a prototype game, you’d do well to look into the DevLAN happening tomorrow, March 6th, from 9:30 AM until 5 PM.

Taking place from the evening of March 6th (a Saturday) until the morning of March 7th, attendees of this PS3 LAN will also be able to take part in Guitar Hero 5 band jam sessions, check out the excellent DJ Hero in action, and witness the best of the best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 veterans take each other on in a VIP competition.

Calling all 360 gamers…Rebound are organising an Xbox 360 LAN in Durban on the 11th of October. There are only 40 spaces so make sure you sign up at www.rebound.co.za and pay your R60 entrance fee to secure your spot today.


All you need to do after signing up is show up at Queensburgh Boys High on the day with your 360, TV and any multiplayer games you want to try out. The last 360 LAN saw gamers diving into Halo 3, Gears of War and Call of Duty 4, with a bit of Guitar Hero on the side.
Following hot on the heels of last week’s DS Lan in Durban, Rebound will be holding a PSP tournament in Johannesburg on the 19th of April.
Meet at 13:00 at the McDonalds at the corner of Kingsway and University Roads (opposite the Campus Square). Games that will be played include Fired Up, Tekken DR and Monster Hunter 2.
There is no limit to the amount of people that can join and the entrance is free, so bring your friends!
