Microsoft made the ice cool announcement yesterday that a glossy white Xbox 360 Kinect family bundle has already gone on sale in the US and would become available very soon around the world.
Today, Xbox 360 South Africa has confirmed that the country will also be receiving this limited edition bundle with price and release date information in tow, while everybody’s favourite Xbox frontman Major Nelson has released an excellent video overview of the bundle, too.
Microsoft has today announced a very stylish-looking, limited edition bundle that includes a white Xbox 360 and controller, as well as a pristine white Kinect device.
As you may have already guessed, Microsoft’s Kinect controller-free motion control gaming device launched in the US today, and with it, a host of games for gamers (and non-gamers) to experience a whole new way of interacting with virtual worlds, not to mention a whole new way to interact with your Xbox 360!
While we wait for the launch of Kinect here in South Africa (and other regions such as the UK and Europe) next week on November 10th, we’ve put together a healthy collection of El33tonline’s previous impressions of the some of the top games now available in the US for Kinect.
El33tonline was fortunate enough to attend gamescom 2010 in Cologne, Germany last month. We got to spend some amazing hands-on time with a vast number of awesome games and chat to their developers. Certainly the highlight was meeting some of the industry’s icons.
All in all it was an amazing experience that enabled us to share a wealth of information with you, our readers. We hope to be back next year to continue bringing unique quality content to the South African gaming community.
Here is a round-up of our hottest coverage from the event:
Microsoft has just taken the wraps off a Special Edition Xbox 360 250GB with Kinect that will be available across the UK and Ireland on the 10th of November.
This special offer will allow UK gamers to get their hands on a black Xbox 360 250GB console, a Kinect sensor and a copy of Kinect Adventures for £299.99 for a limited time.
Kinect Adventures is a collection of short mini-games that showcase the Kinect controller-free gaming device for Xbox 360 quite nicely. Although the game will be bundled with Kinect when it launches later this year, we thought you’d like to know a little more about what you can expect after we got some hands-on time at gamescom recently.
You’ll be able to enjoy 20 adventures in the game, each designed to show off Kinect and give you an adequate taste of exactly what Kinect can do. First up was River Rush, the mini-game that you’ve probably seen a number of screenshots for, and my favourite of the three we got the opportunity to try out.
Following the announcement of an official international price for the Xbox 360’s Kinect, the pricing structure for the controller-free gaming device (as well as the new Xbox 360 4GB and Kinect Console Bundle) has been revealed for South Africa.
Microsoft has just let out the word that the Kinect controller-free gaming device for Xbox 360 will cost an estimated retail price of $149.99/£129.99/€149.99, and will come bundled with the game Kinect Adventures - “no controller, wand or balance board required.”
Zing.
