Square Enix Europe and IO Interactive recently announced that the pair’s next game, Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days, is set to release on August 24th in North America and August 27th in Europe (and PAL territories), on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days, the sequel to 2007’s coolly received Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, will take players to the mean streets of Shanghai in a new action shooter (described as “raw and brutal”) as the story follows the exploits of the titular Kane (“a tactical but disillusioned and desperate ex-mercenary”) and Lynch (“an impulsive and reckless self-medicated psychopath”) through two days “of hell.”

The game uses a new visual direction which is something quite unlike any other game I’ve seen, taking cues from documentary and experimental filmmakers, as well as high-tension TV series as far as camera movement is concerned, which makes for an exciting look and feel indeed.

Square Enix Ltd., a London-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. announced earlier this month that it has renewed its distribution partnership with Nu Metro Interactive of South Africa.

The partnership will see Nu Metro Interactive continue to distribute Square Enix published digital entertainment in South Africa. Export Director at Square Enix Europe, Justin Gaffney said of the agreement:
