The US PlayStation Store update is back to its usual healthy state this week after a bit of an E3 drought, now packing a megaton of special price offers on a bunch of Sonic games… you know, that blue hedgehog fella’?
But that’s not all! A new episode of Sam & Max is now available entitled ‘They Stole Max’s Brain,’ while all kinds of cool downloadable content (DLC) has appeared for a range of different games, including MAG, Just Cause 2, Red Dead Redemption and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
In other exciting news, Rock Band fans can now get all of the ‘Miley Cyrus’ they can handle, with a new track pack featuring the songstress’ ‘hits,’ while the usual assortment of interesting themes, wallpapers and videos also make an appearance.

Eidos is feeling generous. So generous that all you Just Cause 2 players are getting free content…woohoo! Apparently it’s to say thank you for all the “crazy stunts, videos and chaos created by the community over the past few months.”
The Tuk Tuk Boom Boom is available now as a free download from Xbox Live Marketplace, the PlayStation Store and Steam. It’s a “pimped-out and pumped-up” auto rickshaw that “rolls with style, grace and a roof-mounted weapon of mass destruction” and is “capable of devastating even the most persistent of pursuers.”
Latest word on the street from Square Enix is that the Black Market Boom Pack is now available for Just Cause 2.
As I’m sure all you agents out there know, the latest add-on pack contains three game-changing experimental and highly volatile prototype weapons, the “perfect tool for players with a craving for combat and little care for collateral damage.”
The first of two Just Cause 2 add-on packs is now available for download. The Black Market Aerial Pack includes three Agency items to cause more chaos from the air: the F-33 Dragon Fly Jet Fighter; a multi-lock missile launcher; and parachute dual thrusters.
There’s a bunch of interesting and/or exciting new content on the European PlayStation Store this week, with Puzzle Chronicles for PS3, 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa for PSP, and Championship Manager 2010 Express as a PSP/PS3 Mini all showing up on the storefront.
Add-on content this week includes new stuff for MAG, Dante’s Inferno (Trials of St. Lucia) and Just Cause 2, while the usual assortment of Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Karaoke Revolution tracks are available, as well as some interesting videos, themes and price reductions
(Note: This will be the last time a PlayStation Store Update for Europe occurs at the end of the week. From now on, all updates for this region will happen on a Wednesday.)

Xbox mouthpiece Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb has announced the next planned release schedule for content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, thoughtfully telling us when we can expect to get certain Xbox LIVE Arcade games, Games on Demand, Deals of the Week and game add-ons.
Amongst the new content set to release in the next few weeks includes new downloadable content (DLC) for Just Cause 2 and Bioshock 2, and judging by the price of the DLC for that last game, it’s going to be quite a chunk of content.

Ubisoft’s Just Dance has retained the No. 1 spot on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart for the second week in a row, which means the Wii title has clocked up a total of four weeks at the top of the UK’s sales listing – more than any publisher this year, including Nintendo, EA, Sony and Square Enix.
A banana republic is a country that is politically unstable, dependent on limited agriculture (like bananas) and ruled by a small, self-elected, wealthy and corrupt clique. And I always thought it was a term used for Sharks Rugby. The fictional island of Panau is a banana republic though: it is politically unstable; it has loads of banana plantations; and it is ruled by a self-elected president who murdered his father to get the post. However, since it is politically unstable, there are others who want in on the action too. Time to call in the cleaners - Rico Rodriguez will answer the call!

Just Cause 2 fans can get behind the wheel of a “smooth, pimped-out ice cream van” thanks to the new DLC which is now available for free for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Ubisoft’s Just Dance on the Wii has managed to steal back the No. 1 position on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart this past week after an incredible 56% increase in sales, making it the third time the game has appeared at the top of the list this year.
This means that Just Cause 2 (sales down 21%) moves down to No. 2 (from last week’s No. 1), but still remains the best selling game on both of the individual Xbox 360 and PS3 sales charts.
Just Cause 2 has entered Chart Track’s UK Software Chart this week at No. 1, ahead of double debutant Pokemon SoulSilver at No. 2 and Pokemon HeartGold at No. 4, resulting in one of the biggest shake-ups the chart has seen this year.
This No. 1 position for Just Cause 2 makes up for the original title’s inability to clinch the top spot when it debuted at No. 2 almost four years ago. Square Enix seems to be on a bit of a roll this year, now with its second No. 1 published game in the UK after Final Fantasy XIII achieved the same feat a few weeks ago.
Players from around the world are eagerly awaiting the release of Just Cause 2. We know this because Square Enix has revealed that the game’s playable demo has been downloaded over 2 million times since the demo became available on the 4th of March.
Some other interesting stats about the demo that you might like to know: “In that time, players have driven a distance equivalent to a trip from the earth to the moon and back four times; Panau Island has lost almost 30 million of its population (with approximately 2.5 million headshots, almost a million drivers hurled from hijacked vehicles and 27,000 Piñata kills); and players have BASE jumped the equivalent of a freefall through the Earth’s core, pole-to-pole, twice.”
Now that the Just Cause 2 demo is available on all platforms that the full game will launch on, it would be a good time to start getting ‘Pumped’ (Layman’s Term: ‘Excited’) and review a few extensive videos showing off all kinds of crazy stunts you’ll be able to pull off in this open-world action adventure sandbox game.
Watch protagonist Rico Rodriguez BASE jump, destroy things, eject out of planes, zip-line onto moving helicopters and cars and… destroy more things, below:
This week’s US PlayStation Store Update is chock-full of content, with demos for Just Cause 2, Major League Baseball 2K10 and MotoGP 09/10, and tons of downloadable content (DLC) for games like Dante’s Inferno, Resident Evil and MLB 10: The Show, amongst others.
The usual assortment of themes, interesting videos, intriguing PSP amusements and Guitar Hero and Rock Band tracks (including The Beatles: Rock Band ‘All You Need is Love’) have also invaded the network this week, so go ahead and browse through the full list of content now available on the US PlayStation Store below:
