It’s another great content update for the US PlayStation Store this week, as the promised PS3 demo for ModNation Racers appears, flanked by an enormous amount of downloadable content for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Record of Agarest and Split/Second, as well as demos for Iron Man 2 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.

PlayStation Network LogoNew games on the service today include Rocket Knight, The Price is Right and the second episode of the new Sam & Max season for PS3, while Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is now available to purchase and download for PSP.

There’s also the usual assortment of Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks to download, a bunch of interesting videos and themes to take a look at, and a special price offer on Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (50% off!).

EA manages to break Ubisoft’s 4-week run in the top spot on the UK’s Software Chart, as 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa debuts at number 1. Not really surprising given that this is the World Cup themed version of the tenth biggest selling game ever in the UK, FIFA 10.

You might be interested to learn that during this week in the World Cup year of 2006, FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 represented 15% of FIFA 2006’s launch week. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa performs similarly recording 14.6% of FIFA 10’s launch week, this despite only being released on the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP and Wii in comparison to seven formats in 2006.

Iron Man 2 Screenshot 6

Iron Man 2, the game, is now available across the UK and Europe (and will be available on May 4th next week in the US), and to celebrate following the release of the promising screenshots and prologue trailer, SEGA has released a launch trailer showing off some of the epic-looking combat sequences you’ll be engaged in during the game, with a little bit of humour thrown in for good measure.

The countdown to the release of the new Iron Man 2 movie in cinemas is ticking down quickly now and, not surprisingly, Sega looks set to ride the hype train to build anticipation for Iron Man 2: The Video Game.

The publisher has released a new trailer and a batch of new screenshots for the game, unexpectedly showing that the game is shaping up nicely as it tries to break free of the infamous movie tie-in curse.

Iron Man 2Sega is busy working on Iron Man 2: The Video Game, a multi-platform title expected to be released in 2010 alongside the sequel to the popular Paramount Pictures movie of the same name.

We already knew that James Rhodes, aka War Machine (played by Don Cheadle), would be playing a big part in the Iron Man 2 movie. Now this new trailer from Sega shows that War Machine will be included in the videogame too. However, the question that begs to be answered is how big a role will he play?

Iron Man 2Sega has detailed the upcoming action packed Iron Man 2 videogame, announcing that comic book author Matt Fraction will be penning the game’s new story. Iron Man 2 will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii and DS in April 2010.

Set to include elements from both the popular movie and comic book, Iron Man 2 promises to deliver non-stop action with “destructible environments, epic enemies, and innovative hand-to-hand combat moves.” The plot sees Tony Stark bringing new technology into the world but forced to fight enemies who have devious plans for the equipment in order to save the world. All in a day’s work for Iron Man.

Sega has announced that it has extended its partnership with Marvel to include a game based on Iron Man 2.

Iron ManThe multi-platform game is scheduled to launch alongside the film in 2010. Iron Man 2 is currently in production at Sega Studios San Francisco and, according to the press release, we can expect an “entirely new and enhanced gameplay experience” thanks to a refined game engine.

“We are thrilled to build on the success of the Iron Man phenomenon and work with Marvel and Paramount on another epic project,” says Simon Jeffery, President of SEGA of America, Inc. “SEGA and Marvel are collaborating closely to ensure we deliver an authentic Iron Man experience.”

Jon Favreau will again return to the director’s chair for the film while Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow as his secretary Pepper Potts. Other popular actors have been linked to the film including Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle and Tim Robbins.
