Thanks to a recent round of very positive previews that have gone live around the ‘net, publisher Square Enix has released a fresh new batch of screenshots for IO Interactive’s mighty stealth action game, Hitman Absolution.
It’s common knowledge in gaming circles that Hitman Absolution from IO Interactive is shaping up to be one of the most exciting games of 2012, and seems to be not only a triumphant return for ‘the original assassin,’ but also a return to form for the hit-and-miss Danish game developer.
If you’re a fan of the Hitman series or stealth games in general, then prepared to be amazed by just under seventeen minutes of fresh Hitman: Absolution footage starring assassin-for-hire Agent 47. Danish developer IO Interactive has clearly taken inspiration from Batman: Arkham Asylum to create a tense and atmospheric experience with plenty of scripted sequences and multiple ways to approach each level.
Following the release of an incredibly teasery teaser trailer for the game, Square Enix and IO Interactive have together formally announced that the fifth entry to the Hitman series of stealth action games is in development.
Titled Hitman Absolution, the game will become available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC next year.
Let’s not mince words with this one: Square Enix and developer IO Interactive have just announced the next game in the stealth action Hitman franchise with a debut teaser trailer.
I don’t know about you, but every time a new video for Kane & Lynch 2 is released, I get super excited. The bobbing camera, the special screen filter, the visceral sound effects… it’s looking mighty!
And even though this latest video for the game isn’t taken from actual in-game footage and is presented in more of a cinematic fashion, the trailer still holds close to the core experience of Kane & Lynch 2 and at least alludes to what you’ll be seeing and doing during the game.
And if that’s not enough, you can watch another new trailer for the game featuring a bit of cooperative play from Kane & Lynch 2, all of which you can find below:
Do you think you can kill the “psychotic killer Lynch” and the “convicted criminal Kane,” the stars of the upcoming Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days? Do you think you can go toe-to-toe with “ultra violent convicts”?
After watching this new trailer for IO Interactive’s action game, any confidence you may have in your own ability to take down professional killers will be severely diminished, as the pair shoot, destroy and ruthlessly intimidate those unfortunate enough to cross their paths:
The previously closed demo for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has opened up and is now available to all Xbox LIVE Gold members to download.
The demo weighs in at a hefty 2GB, and includes the following:
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days from IO Interactive is looking super sharp, not because the developer is creating the world’s most graphically impressive game, but rather because Kane & Lynch 2 features some of the most striking visual direction a triple-A studio has dared to inject into a videogame of this generation.
Using ‘simple’ camera tricks and filters, IO has managed to create a game with a very unique aesthetic that is instantly recognisable, with graphics technology that is arguably a little on the old side.
The only question is how long will one be able to play Kane & Lynch 2 without feeling a little ill with all of the visual stimuli? To decide for yourself, get a taste of Kane & Lynch 2’s gameplay below with two videos featuring singleplayer and multiplayer action:
PS3 owners will be glad to know that a demo for IO Interactive’s excellent looking action shooter, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, will be hitting the PlayStation Network next week, on Tuesday July 20th… for members of the PlayStation Plus subscription service, that is.
Regular PlayStation Network users will gain access to this Kane & Lynch 2 demo on July 27th.
All of this information is according to the US PlayStation Blog. The European PlayStation Blog, on the other hand, says something a little different.
Square Enix has already made everyone’s week by announcing that IO Interactive’s latest action shooter romp, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, will be launching a full week earlier than expected.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Kane & Lynch 2 will now be available on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on the 17th of August in North America and August 20th throughout Europe and PAL territories.
Now that’s what we call getting the job done right. Talking about getting the job done, you can enjoy this new ‘Focus on the Job’ multiplayer trailer for the game below:
Originally scheduled to release in North America on August 24th and in the UK and Europe on August 27th, IO Interactive’s latest action shooter romp, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, is now set to launch into the world a full week earlier than expected.
So much nicer than a delay, don’t you think?
IO Interactive has revealed that more than $27 billion has successfully been stolen in-game by players who’ve managed to access the developer’s limited Xbox 360 demo of Kane & Lynch 2 and its range of multiplayer modes.
Additionally, some 116 000 players have been killed in-game while trying to pull off a heist in order to get at that money. What’s staggering, the developer says, is that 8000 of those kills were made by undercover cops, acting as criminals pulling off the cash heists.
IO’s conclusion?
“You’re all a bunch of untrustworthy crooks!”
Have a look through a batch of newly released screenshots from Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days to feel better about yourself:
We’ve previously seen a lot of coverage regarding Kane & Lynch 2’s various multiplayer modes, but beyond an initial reveal, not much has been shown as far as the game’s singleplayer campaign is concerned.
That’s about to change as Eidos and developer IO Interactive have released a new story-based gameplay trailer telling us a bit more about why protagonists Kane and Lynch are in Shanghai, with hints of how much trouble the two are going to get into in this latest adventure.
Dang! This game is looking hot:
Another one of Kane & Lynch 2’s awesome looking multiplayer game types has been detailed by way of another stylish trailer and a clutch of screenshots: This time, we find out about the Cops & Robbers mode.
In a twelve-player team-based match, police officers and criminals fight over stolen money, either trying to secure and protect it (the Cops) or steal it and get away with it (the Robbers).
In motion, Kane & Lynch 2 looks fantastic, and those visceral gunshots sound amazing. In screenshots however… well, the screen filters don’t come off so strongly, so don’t mind that.
