Despite encouraging sales numbers (especially for a brand new intellectual property competing in the cutthroat military shooter genre), Kaos Studios was shut down at THQ’s behest, leaving the future of the Homefront franchise in doubt.

You don’t need me to tell you that the realism-based first-person shooter genre is overcrowded. You don’t need me to tell you that this self-same genre is hot business in the game industry as publishers vie to create ‘the next big thing.’ Similarly, you don’t need me to tell you how fierce the competition for online multiplayer supremacy is within this genre, as titans of the videogame world slog it out to try and invite you into their universe (and keep you there) with dozens of addictive tricks, desperately aiming to lock you into the game.

You also don’t need me to tell you about the stratospheric quality that most of these games boast, with production values to match Hollywood blockbuster films and gameplay refinement to effortlessly remove all obstacles towards enjoying an awesome, fulfilling experience.
