Hello Games has been pretty quiet lately about their newest project, Joe Danger: The Movie. Thankfully this looks set to change as the UK indie developer has released four new screenshots of the game for us to enjoy.
Just this morning we brought you news that Joe Danger: Special Edition had gone gold. Now we have some even better news, Hello Games has revealed the release date!
While we were shuffling through the busy halls of gamescom earlier this year, we discovered the exciting stand for Hello Games, the team of four developers based in the UK. It was hard not to miss actually, with those awesome Joe Danger cardboard cut-outs dominating every corner of the stand.
We at El33tonline had been happily reading the updates on Hello Games’ blog for many months already, and so already knew about their fascination with cups of tea and their amazement when other popular developers like LittleBigPlanet’s Media Molecule popped in for a visit.
It’s today been confirmed that the previously (and vehemently) PlayStation Network-exclusive downloadable title Joe Danger will be making its way to Xbox LIVE.
Last year’s memorable PlayStation Network release Joe Danger introduced us to the titular, larger-than-life bike stuntman. The game was obviously a big enough success for UK indie developer Hello Games to march ahead with a sequel, and this new project has been revealed under the working title “Joe Danger: The Movie”.
Those good folks over at Hello Games have decided to put Joe Danger on sale for a limited time. So if you haven’t yet played this excellent looking and stylised bike-racing game, now’s the perfect chance because it’s available for half price (just $7.49) on the US PlayStation Store until the 30th of November.
The developer has also released some awesome new characters for the game, each with their “own unique style, new motorbike, crazy new moves and special collectibles.” These new characters will be available in all regions, in the US today and the rest of the world tomorrow.
The folks at Hello Games have reminded everybody that a patch has been released for their platformer/racing/trick/motorbike game, Joe Danger, which adds a bunch of new features and content.
The update is called the “People’s Patch,” and according to Hello Games, the patch “answers pretty much every piece of feedback we’ve had from the community. It’s something for fans to get really excited about, and if you haven’t played the game before, you’re in for a treat. It’s totally free, and all you have to do is boot Joe Danger up to get all this new cool stuff.”
Sean Murray at Hello Games continues:
The winners of the annual Develop Awards were announced recently, recognising the top games, developers, technologies and service providers in the European videogame industry.
Quntic Dream received two awards, one of which was for the studio’s Heavy Rain action adventure game, while Joe Danger developer Hello Games also won two awards. Batman: Arkham Asylum, Split/Second and DJ Hero all also picked up awards.

At the same time, the developers promised that they were working hard to make sure Joe Danger would show up on the European PlayStation Store as close to the US launch as possible, and guess what? Hello Games has made good on its promise.
