Following a flurry of fantastic fan-friendly… Halo 4 news, with details on the game’s exciting ‘Halo Infinity Multiplayer’ suite of customisation options and game modes, as well as information on the Halo 4 Limited Edition, Microsoft has released a version of the title’s box art that’s presented in a completely brand new way: Animated!

It was only yesterday when we got our first look at the outstanding box art that will adorn copies of Halo 4 when Microsoft’s next blockbuster first-person shooter hits shelves on November 6th, and now today, brand new and hugely exciting information has been unveiled!
Today we learn about Halo 4’s intriguing online and multiplayer offerings in ‘Halo Infinity Multiplayer,’ with talk of story-driven game modes and further in-depth details on how you’ll experience the title’s competitive game modes!
In a clever (and quick) campaign to reveal the box art of Halo 4 in a very non-traditional way (creating a flurry of excitement in the process), Microsoft and 343 Industries recently emailed out internet addresses to a few chosen Halo fans which pointed to segments and slices of downloadable images.
These fans caught on very fast and soon gathered to put their respectively-emailed image pieces together to form a final image and, wouldn’t you know it, a glorious Halo 4 packshot began to take shape:
Blockbuster videogames have seen some mighty advertising efforts in recent years, but the one a lot of gamers will point to as the most affecting is Halo 3’s ‘Finish the Fight’ - a campaign which comprised a series of mock interviews with survivors of important battles in which they had witnessed the awe-inspiring antics of Master Chief as he lead his side to victory against all odds.
The centrepiece of this campaign was a fly-through of a diorama depicting an epic battle, set to moving piano music composed by series-long musician Martin O’Donnell.
The fact that I can recall this campaign in an instant from the recesses of my memory means it had an incredible, lasting impact. With Halo 4, Microsoft and series steward 343 Industries are looking to do it all over again.
With the reveal of Halo 4’s release date (November 6th if you didn’t know), the countdown has begun for the first game in the next trilogy of this blockbuster franchise - a trilogy that Microsoft says will “encompass the next decade of Halo games and experiences.”
It’ll also be the first trilogy not helmed by franchise creators, Bungie, but judging purely by the debut screenshots and artwork released for Halo 4 (and not locked away in Game Informer exclusivity), 343 Industries and its development partners will be doing right by the fans.

In 2012 you’re going to need to choose your allegiances carefully with major multiplayer games like the next Call of Duty game, Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Halo 4 all releasing towards the end of the year, ready and willing to fight for your game playing time.
Comedy show host Conan O’Brien has made his allegiance clear: He’s with Halo 4, as can be seen in this truly hilarious segment that aired on his programme recently.
Microsoft has stamped a release date on Halo 4, officially announcing that Master Chief’s newest adventure will be available this November.
Halo 4 has been confirmed as the next cover story for Game Informer, with an awesome bit of artwork adorning the front of the magazine and tons of details promised to be included on the insides.

If you were to ask the casual person on the street what the biggest gaming franchise in the world is at the moment, what do you think they would say? Mario? Dig a little deeper and you might start to hear names like ‘Call of Duty,’ or ‘Grand Theft Auto’ or even ‘Assassin’s Creed.’

If you were hoping to dive into a Halo 4 beta before its holiday 2012 launch then I’m afraid you’re out of luck. Developer 343 Industries has taken the decision to focus on internal testing rather than split its resources by putting out and managing a public beta.
Following the release of the very first in-game screenshots for Halo 4, Microsoft and franchise stewards 343 Industries have gone live with a four minute video documentary scratching the surface of the making of Halo 4, discussing what the team at 343 Industries is doing to bring the game to life following the runaway success of the previous games in the series.
Included in the video are your very first glimpses of Halo 4 in action, as well as sneak peaks at multiplayer, so keep your eyes dialled in:

A pair of debut Halo 4 screenshots have been released today, apparently ahead of an embargo that was set for later this afternoon, but now that the images have flooded the ‘net it’s time to drink them in here, too.
