Do you really want some highlights from this week’s European PlayStation Store content update? OK, here’s a highlight: Everything!
This week on the European PS Store, there’s going to be a crazy amount of special price offers on all kinds of PlayStation 3 and PSP games, as well as downloadable content, thanks in part to the Spring Offfers sale on PlayStation Network.
What about new content on the store? What about it?! There’s going to be just as much new stuff as there are price reductions, with new games like Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, Rush ‘n Attack: Ex Patriot, tons of songs for Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and the usual assortment of themes, videos and DLC (for Bulletstorm and MotorStorm Apocalypse!).

What’s up with all of these demos and PSOne Classics on the US PlayStation Store this week? There’s a ton of them!
You know what else is available now on the US PlayStation Store? Downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Dragon Age II, MLB 11: The Show and LittleBigPlanet 2, that’s what!

Scheduled to appear in a just a few hours time on the European PlayStation Store are a couple interesting new downloadable items, including a very interesting and fast-paced action platform game called Explodemon.
That’s all well and good, but you know what I’m really excited about?
Other than these two new PlayStation Network titles, you can take advantage of special price offers on a bunch of minis, a few more temporary price reductions (including the 90-day subscription fee for DC Universe Online), demos, new tracks for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and Rock Band, and much more!

So, Double Fine’s latest game, Stacking, is now available on the US PlayStation Store.
Enjoy.
Oh, and there are a few other things that hit Sony’s digital storefront, including Explodemon, Tales From Space: About a Blob, a Pink Knight downloadable pack for Castle Crashers, and the usual assortment of Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks, new wallpapers and themes, interesting videos, demos and PSOne Classics.

As with the US storefront, the European PlayStation Store is soon to receive an impressive amount of new downloadable content as well as a host of special price offers on an interesting range of games, not least of which is the ‘February Mega minis Sale’ which comprises no less than 20 titles!
Bionic Commando 2 and X-Men Arcade will also become available for purchase later today on the store, while a demo for Fight Night Champion will feature too. Don’t forget about the Killzone 3 multiplayer open beta coming soon!

Much like the US PlayStation Store, there’s not going to be a whole lot going on over at the European PlayStation Store when it updates with new content later today, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything interesting to pique your grey matter’s energy levels.
Lot least of the offerings today will be a bunch of price reductions on a range of great games, including Alien Breed: Impact and two Prince of Persia games, while masses of downloadable content will also feature to (hopefully) liven up what your current game library can do for you.
Also on offer will be a selection of DC Universe Online subscription packages, ranging from 30- to 180-day memberships (yo, that game is out in Europe today!). Tasty!

When Xbox frontman Major Nelson posted a list of upcoming Xbox LIVE content the other day, in amongst the talk of brand new Xbox LIVE games, Games on Demand titles heading to the service and an upcoming free Xbox LIVE Gold weekend, he also mentioned something about special price offers on digital content for a range of Activision games.
No further information was forthcoming… until now!
From now until January 17th, Xbox LIVE members will be able to take advantage of all kinds of great deals on massive amounts of Activision-related content: Everything must go!

Today’s European PlayStation Store update has arrived a little earlier than usual, and you know what that means, right?

Not only will there be special price offers on a few different and interesting games; Not only will we finally see Blacklight: Tango Down and Castle Crashers release on the European PSN; Not only will there be demos for Rock Band 3 (on PS3) and Split/Second (on PSP); And not only will we be able to pick through an enormous assortment of downloadable content for games like Medal of Honor, Dead Rising 2, God of War III and FIFA 11!
Not only all of this, but the God of War Collection will also makes its way on to the store!

Cape Town gamers, what if we told you that an awesome PS3 LAN and competition event was happening in your very city, very soon? Would you be tempted to attend such a shindig?
Well then! Let us tempt you with more details!
It’s been announced that GamingEventsCo (or GECo) will be hosting its 9th Cape Town PS3 LAN event on November 6th, with FIFA 11 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock competitions being held for attendees!
Here are all of the pertinent details:
It’s no secret that the music game genre is a little… crowded these days, as Activision Blizzard continues to release at least one Guitar Hero game every year, which is now accompanied by what will be annual entries into the DJ Hero franchise. Harmonix, too, has its Rock Band franchise spilling out all over the place, with no less than five series entries to date, with a sixth releasing this past week.
With all of this choice and a resultant market deluge, sales of titles in the music game genre have been on the decline for a while, with a string of less than stellar Guitar Hero games, worse than expected retail performance by The Beatles: Rock Band (and the invisible releases of Green Day: Rock Band and LEGO Rock Band), as well as underwhelming initial sales numbers for the original DJ Hero.
