The European PlayStation Store content update will soon be upon us, and with it will come a bevy of new downloadable content (DLC) for games like Dead to Rights: Retribution and Lost Planet 2, as well as a host of special price offers on games such as Wakeboading HD.
We’ll also be getting the chance to purchase and download the classic PlayStation game Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus, while enjoying a number of permanent price reductions on some PSP games, too, all shuffled in amongst the usual offerings of Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks, interesting trailers, wallpapers and themes.

This week’s content update for the US PlayStation Store is once again chock full of goodness, filled to the brim with great price offers (50% off Prince of Persia Classic and Wakeboarding HD), downloadable content, themes and interesting videos.
You’ll also be able to download demos for Green Day: Rock Band and the excellent PixelJunk Shooter, get your hands on games such as Soldner-X 2 for PS3 and ModNation Racers for PSP, as well as buy a bunch of new tracks for Guitar Hero and Rock Band

If you’re chomping at the bit for more Rock Band, then get out your miniature plastic instruments and fire up your Xbox 360, because a demo for Green Day: Rock Band has just hit Xbox LIVE Marketplace (available to Xbox LIVE Gold members only at the moment).
Harmonix and MTV Games have revealed the full tracklist for Green Day: Rock Band. The game will include 47 tracks on-disc when it launches on the 8th of June for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.
The tracklist includes a collection of greatest hits and fan favourites, including songs from two of Green Day’s most popular albums, Dookie and American Idiot. Gamers will also be able to play the album 21st Century Breakdown in its entirety when paired with the six tracks from that album which are already available as DLC in the Rock Band Music Store. The tracklist will be fully exportable.
Green Day, Harmonix, MTV Games and Reprise / Warner Bros. Records (phew) has announced that the group’s standalone videogame collaboration, Green Day: Rock Band, is set to release on June 8th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, with pricing structures announced for each platform.
Green Day: Rock Band aims to allow players access to the full ‘Green Day experience,’ as you “step onto the stage and into the shoes of Green Day, the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band that jump-started the punk-pop revival and has continued to pave the way for American rock music into the 21st century.”
The Spike TV Video Game Awards was the place to be this past weekend. In addition to a number of world premiere debut trailers being showcased, a new standalone Rock Band title was also unveiled at the event.
Harmonix, MTV Games and Warner Bros. have teamed up with Green Day to bring Green Day: Rock Band to music gamers. The game is described as an “extension and expression of Green Day’s most-defining albums and key moments throughout their career to date.”
