Shadows of the Damned is a game about tragedy, despair and desperation. It’s a game about foul-mouthed, hideous and nightmarish demons, damned to an excruciating existence in the gloomy, unique vision of Hell presented by Suda51 and developer Grasshopper Manufacture. Despite the game’s oppressive themes and atmosphere, however, and in amongst the darkness and torment, Shadows of the Damned is also a game about unbridled defiance, boundless hope and the never-ending battle between the powers of Good and Evil, with a few big-hearted and helpful demons at hand to light the path towards victory.

Occasionally, your path will also be lit by glowing feces dropped by a bat-like creature with one eye, and you’ll hold regular conversations with a talking skull with a British accent. Sometimes, you’ll need to consume a human heart to survive in the world, and you may even witness a dozen severed heads rolling down a ramp. Shadows of the Damned is about all of these things and more, but nothing can quite prepare you for what you will see.

One of these tempting items is the Move-enabled No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise demo. It’s only available on the UK store for now, but hopefully it will be published in short order on the South African and North American variants too.

According to scans from Japanese games magazine Famitsu, and reports from Siliconera, an entry to Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda 51’s action game series, No More Heroes, will be appearing on the Xbox 360 and PS3, foregoing the series’ preferred platform (i.e. the Wii) in favour of the higher definition consoles.

It’s been announced that No More Heroes 2, the sequel to Suda 51 (Goichi Suda) and Grasshopper Manufacture’s original ultra-violent action adventure game for the Wii, will be distributed by Ubisoft in North America when the game is released early next year, and to celebrate, a trio of new screenshots from the game have been released.

No More Heroes 2 continues the tale of Travis Touchdown after he finds himself at the bottom of the United Assassins Association rankings (after fighting so hard to become No. 1 in the first game), and must now make his way to the top once again, using two swords this time around to fend off multiple bosses and opponents at the same time.

While it may have seemed that the awesome, irreverent, crazy action title, No More Heroes, didn’t sell that well (although it was popular in a niche way), it turns out that it must have been commercially successful enough to warrant a sequel, which has been announced to be in development at the original developer, Grasshopper Manufacture, under the watchful eye of Suda51.

No More Heroes 2 should be coming next year for Wii, so check out the confirmation trailer below until more information arises.
