It’s been a bumper year for the God of War series - the hugely anticipated third instalment, God of War III, was released on the PS3 in March to rave reviews, and now Sony’s Santa Monica Studio and Ready at Dawn bring us God of War: Ghost of Sparta for the PSP. This game is a prequel of sorts, taking place between the events of God of War I and II, and this time Kratos is on a mission to find his brother Deimos, who was kidnapped by Ares while they were still children.
The first thing you need to know about Ghost of Sparta is that it’s a very short game. It will take you roughly 5 hours to traverse through the game’s different environments before the credits roll. God of War: Ghost of Sparta for the PSP releases very soon, and it’s looking very impressive. While it can’t hope to match the graphical prowess of its PlayStation 3 cousin, developer Ready at Dawn is squeezing an enormous amount of power out of the diminutive handheld.
And by the looks of this newly released story trailer for Ghost of Sparta, the second PSP game set in the God of War universe is set to be every bit as epic as anything the PlayStation 3 can muster:

What motive for pre-ordering Ghost of Sparta is provided this time? An exclusive Legionnaire skin for Kratos, which makes him look very intimidating indeed.
Watch Kratos in action while dressed in full Legionnaire regalia below:
There aren’t many videogame trailers that are able to seize an audience’s attention and keep it firmly grasped for the duration of the video, but sometimes a gem will come along and truly mesmerise you, and by the end of the trailer (and when the magic has finally worn off) you’re desperate to play that game!
This latest trailer for God of War: Ghost of Sparta is such a gem:
