If you think you were bestowed with design talent as well as videogaming skills then make sure you check out Gamer Gear’s first official design competition.
The design competition owes its existence to the popularity of the ‘Contribute’ section where eager designers submitted designs and hoped to become the next stocked T-shirt.
“We’ve seen strong participation in our design submissions and decided that it’s only natural to reward those designers with great prizes in exchange for their hard work,” commented Rudy C aka Mr Gamer Gear.
The design competition runs from the 19th of January until the 2nd of February. You can submit your designs via the submissions page on www.gamer-gear.co.za or send them to subs@gamer-gear.co.za.
Please note that artwork must have the correct dimensions (600px by 400px PNG or high-res JPEG). The designer with the most user votes will win the monthly pot of prizes and their design will become a Gamer Gear product.
Good luck!
Earlier in the year we introduced you to RudRa clothing, a South African website that offers innovative clothing designs for gamers. It seems gamers were blown away by having their very own clothing label because pretty soon a new label called Gamer Gear was launched along with the GamerTag service which allows gamers to print nicks on various products.
If you haven’t yet checked Gamer Gear out, don’t delay because not only is there a brand new site to browse but new designs to check out too! www.gamer-gear.co.za now features not only various T-shirt and hoodie designs in the gamer, geek and gamertag sections of the shop, but custom clan merchandise as well. In addition you can submit your own designs, if they are given the thumbs up by Gamer Gear readers, your design will get printed and you will get a free T-shirt.
Gamer Gear T-shirts retail for R120 and hoodies for R280. You can now get any design put on a hoodie and zipped hoodies are available with certain clan merchandise. The GamerTag printing service costs an additional R40 per garment.
RudRa Clothing recently launched a new clothing label for gamers. The label is designed specifically by gamers and aims to provide “Overclocked Apparel” at competitive prices.
RudRa, a South African business, was started in September 2006 and initial response to the brand was positive. Whilst their initial product range catered for a broad target market, they noted an overwhelming response from gamers. In response they are proud to announce the new label – Gamer Gear. In conjunction with the new label they offer gamers the GamerTag service, allowing gamers to customize their orders by choosing to have their nick/alias printed on the product for a nominal fee.
“We pride ourselves on providing what our customers want and would like to thank them for their valued support during our continued growth.” - Rudy C, Director of RudRa and avid PC/Console Gamer.
The catalogue is constantly under revision with new designs being released every Wednesday. You can review the catalogue through RudRa’s website and easily place an order online. They currently ship within South Africa but are willing to discuss international orders and can be contacted through their website.
The Gamer Gear T-shirts retail for R100 and hoodies for R200. The GamerTag printing service costs an additional R40 per garment.
