Developer Frontier has announced that its latest WiiWare title, LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, has hit the top spot on Nintendo’s WiiWare service in both Europe and North America.
David Braben, Frontier’s Chairman and Founder, said: “The hugely positive response there has been to Winter of the Melodias is really heart warming, and the team really appreciate this as it justifies all the effort and care they put into it.”
Frontier has announced that LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias will be available today on the North American WiiWare service for 1000 Wii Points.
LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias sees players setting out to save Toku’s mother, lift an ancient Curse and foil the plans of the evil Balasar. To do so, players will once again enlist the powers of Enril the Wind Spirit to control the wind using the Wii Remote. Toku will use the wind to power his jumps and glides, suspend and smash new enemies and explore new areas of the magical land of Mistralis.

Developer Frontier has announced that LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias will be available on WiiWare tomorrow, the 9th of October, in Europe for 1000 Wii Points. The sequel to the popular WiiWare launch title will be the 100th game released by Nintendo of Europe on WiiWare. A release date for other regions has yet to be announced.

Yesterday we brought you news that developer Frontier had begun work on LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, a sequel to last year’s popular WiiWare launch title, LostWinds.
Today Frontier revealed details of the game along with a few charming screenshots and a trailer that show the game is following in the same art style of its predecessor.

The latest issue of Edge magazine features a preview of the new sequel, titled LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias. According to early reports, players will solve puzzles in the game thanks to a new game mechanic that allows the returning hero Toku to switch the seasons of the world between summer and winter.
