Another mash-up story? Surely not… but indeed it is.

Watchmen LogoFans of the Watchmen comics/graphics novels are clamouring for the Watchmen episodic games releasing on Xbox 360 and PS3 (and the movie, of course), but they are being denied by Old Man Time, as the release dates are still a little ways off.

What is a Watchmen fan to do? Perhaps you could partake in a little Flash gaming for once, and leave your fancy high-definition consoles alone for a second.

The game is pretty dang good, allowing you to play as either Nigh Owl or Silk Spectre, and fits the style of arcade games from the 80’s perfectly, although you can’t jump forward or do any air attacks… still, a great game to while away the time until the Watchmen movie and games are released.

Head on over here (may take a while to load) and then pop a quarter into the arcade machine to start.

While console owners usually get to play unusual, experimental and overall fun indie games (from flOw, to Everyday Shooter, to Braid), sometimes you don’t need to invest any hard-earned cash to experience new and interesting games - simply visiting a website will do the trick.

Such is the case with Aether, a free-to-play exploration-platformer game in which a boy and an extraordinarily strange creature go on an adventure together, while swinging through the sky on clouds and moons, visiting distant planets and helping out the locals.

Watch footage from Aether below, and then, if you’re intrigued, go play it (requires Flash Player).
